Need some 'go home' vibes, please! (update, HE'S HOME!)

not to be depressing, but are they also checking worst case scenarios?

Poor little puppers, sending some go home vibes and I hope everything works out.

One of my big worries if somehow Kirby ever ended up lost is that someone would find him but just decide to keep him, even if he had his tags on, because he is a small, cute dog.  Seems some times people would be more prone to return a wallet or purse, but a animal, no why not keep that. =(

Yea...it was too late to call highway/sanitation today....we're going to call tomorrow. Unfortunately, they don't have scanners in their trucks, so we'l have to call and check the log books tomorrow... :(

Maybe fib a little and put 'needs medication' or something on the flyers? Finding a puppy is one thing, but if the finder thought he was unhealthy, maybe they'd return him?? Just an idea :(

Maybe also add that the puppy can be adopted (with all the adoption perks that would come with it), which might make someone who found him more likely to come forward?

Hope he shows up, it seems likely that someone has him. Will be hoping for the best!

Megan - I DID write that. I told the foster if any one questions it - to says he's got a contagious parasite that needs to be treated before it becomes deadly and infects everyone he comes in contact with. In my defense... he IS due for his second worming...

Agile - I thought about that... but then again, I don't want someone to think that because he will be up for adoption, that it's just ok to keep him, because we're going to look for a home for him anyways. I'm still open to it... just want to give it a few more days. :(

Well... long story short - a neighbor of the foster had him.

Now, the lady CLAIMS she contacted the humane society - but I left a report with them the first night he was missing, and emailed the manager the next day. If she really called or not, we'll never know.

Good thing he turned up, because we had a phone call to our sheriff detective to start poking his nose around tomorrow. She thought a different neighbor had him, turns out it was the people next door.

We think they started to get nervous with all the signs and cars driving past (it's a dead end, quiet street), so it's not like she didn't see the signs...

either way... it's a happy ending. he's safe, in good shape, and happy back with his litter mates :)
