Need some 'go home' vibes, please! (update, HE'S HOME!)

sending some major GO HOME JOHNNY vibes!!!

Hopefully who ever finds him will do the right thing... you KNOW they will think "aw! cute puppy! i'll protect him!"((and who wouldnt)) then they will take him to the vet eventually and tell their story on how they found "the poor little waif wandering out alone in the cold.... people can be so irresponsible!" and the vet will hopefully do a scan for a chip.

Thats what they did with Kaydee(even after we had her for so many years(i got her from a co-worker who found her eating out a dumpster skin and bones and still lactating), the vet scanned her- no chip thank God!!) and when we found Chloe. just mentioning that she was a stray was enough cause for them to want to scan them both for chips.

    So dont lose hope!!!

Johnny, sweet puppy, please go home!!

Gosh, I soo hope they find him soon!

I hope the dog wasn't stolen.  I just can't imagine a 9 week old puppy escaping and running away, let alone getting far enough to not be found pretty quick.  I used to let Nikon out by himself at that age, no fence around the yard at that point.  He did his business right outside the door and then whined to come back in (I watched at the window).

I wish people would take animals to shelters within a day or two, when found. Keeping a found dog in your yard for days and weeks, while maybe putting up FOUND flyer or two really does not do a whole lot, imo to help things along. Esp if you live a distance from where you find the dog...and pick it up to "rescue it" while driving around...

No kidding.  When we found a dog, we did keep it for 24 hours but we called all the shelters and gave a description of the dog and where it was found.  Our shelters are not close to us so they would have been closed by the time we drove over there anyway.  Instead we spent the evening driving around looking for LOST signs or people looking for a dog.  We actually found a LOST sign with the same breed, but when we called them they said their dog was already found (or maybe it was their dog and they didn't want him anymore).  At 10pm we drove to the e-vet and had them scan the dog for a chip, but no dice.  The next day I had DH bring him to the best shelter (had to pay to leave him there even though he wasn't ours) and sent along a description of where I found him.

I've called all the vets in the area...they all are keeping reports and will keep their eyes open. I'm rather disappointed that the other shelters I called last night have not yet called me back... I did email them both just a few minutes ago with a picture. I'll take a drive down to animal control later today... just in case.

Her dog (my former foster pup) squeezed though the gate, and little Johnny followed Bentley. Bentley came back, but no pup. She was out looking for him right away - which is why it's possibly a neighbor may have him... I gave her and some other volunteers 100 flyers, and they were both going to make even more copies. It's a very dark, very quiet area, off of a residential area... not street lights, but he's not the type of pup to hide and be scared - very bold little booger. I'm keeping everything crossed that whoever grabbed him does right by him and turn him in somewhere.... :(

      You got it...

I can't imagine leaving a 9week old puppy outside unattended, though.  Was she there and the puppy just took off on her?  She must be feeling really badly right now.  :(

i was going to say the same about my little ones. at this age they only cared about doing their business and only tarried if i was outside with them. if i stepped back inside for half a second they would stop in the middle of doing their business to follow me.

but then i read the latest update and that makes sense that a puppy would follow an older dog. thats happened to me before. learned my lesson too. they can travel far with another dog, but that other also doesnt give a flip if the puppy follows or not.

This one probably curled up on the nearest doorstep.

Yeah that makes much more sense.  Nikon followed Coke once when Coke escaped.  It actually worked in our favor b/c Nikon came back as soon as we realized they got out, we called him and opened the car door.  He came right back and jumped in, and so did Coke.

I've got my fingers and toes crossed....and Stewie and Ruby have their Pitbull ears crossed!  I hope he finds his way home!!!  Losing my pooches is one of my BIGGEST fears, I just can barely even stand to think about it!  Last week I locked Stewie in the garage (accidently) while unloading groceries....and the little dear never makes a sound...20 mins later I realize he is not in the house!  I run outside freaking out, called hubs......and 5 mins later remembered to check the garage.  It's pathetic really....but it's terrifying to even think of it.  9 weeks old is WAY too young to be out in this big scary world!!!

     Keep us updated!
