Mindless Chat Saturday

I woke up with a sore throat yesterday. I was really hoping it was just from not running the humidifier at night, but I ran it last night and I still have a sore throat. And Willa's not napping again and I'm so grumpy!

Ok, one funny story to lighten the mood. A few days ago, I was either making dinner or cleaning up (I can't remember). Willa was playing on the floor in the living room. She stood up, took a few steps toward the kitchen, then screamed. Took a few more steps, froze, and screamed. She grabbed her diaper. Of course the first thing I thought was, "Oh no, bladder infection!?" I went over to her and pulled her pants open. She had a HUGE grundy. One side of her diaper was totally in her butt crack. LMAO! I fixed it for her and she was fine.

January is a month for GREAT b'days.  Only the truly great have January b'days!

Mine was in Dec, which is also a great month to have a bday!

Today began with me spending a lot of time on the phone with our insurance company and auto body shop, ugh.  DH was going to pick up dinner last night, his lane was moving but the lane of opposing traffic was at a standstill.  Some girl who wasn't paying attention on a side street crossed over the standing traffic and tried to cross his lane without looking and although he had been at a light and not moving fast, he clipped her back end.  We now are missing half a bumper and some other cosmetic damage.  Sigh.  I decided to file the claim with our insurance and have them fight hers for our deductible and rental car costs since if I try to fight them myself it might take forever.  Means I have to front the money and cross my fingers, but a bumper, headlight, side light and some paint damage to the hood were enough for us to go for it. So glad he was paying attention and reacted and no one was hurt and all in all, it wasn't horrible damage.

And then, my dinner was late

We dont have much snow here, knock on wood. I like snow, but they don't deal with it properly here so better to not have a ton.  It is mighty frigid out there, though.

ETA -- there must be a minimum age at which you shouldn't add a decade.... I can barely pass for my age, let alone 10 yrs older, LOL.

And Jan, that wedgie story is priceless! Poor Willa.

 Agreed on the age thing Nicole - I'm almost 25 but look probably 18 on a good day.  I've been working with college students this past month and I still feel younger than them myself, let alone how old they must think I am.   I will say that I am starting to see the benefits to our situation though.

LOL I turned 25 last month, so that's exactly how I feel!  I *feel* older since I'm married, have a house, etc, but probably look closer to 21 than 35!

When I hit 40 I started to count backwards.  I hit 25 last summer -- and as long as every birthday is better than the contrasting one I WIN.  Now so far I only get "looks" -- and that's fine -- if I'm going to lie I'm going to have fun with it.

 However -- when someone actually chokes on it I suppose I'll have to turn around and count the other way again -- and at some point I'll be incapable of the math and then I won't give a crud!!

We went to a dog "event" at a dog store here in town (food, accessories, etc.) and the dogs pulled me (in the wheelchair) all the heck all over.

 SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ***THATS*** how to wear them out and make them sleep for the rest of the day!!  *grin*

(but a tired pug is a GOOD pug!! LOL)

the dog that only runs is now crated for a bit.  I have been out with him many times, fun for both of us but now all the paved areas are sheets of ice, watching him slip and slide was a bit too much for me.  He is a funny beast though - he found the iced over snow even better than soft snow.  Reminded me that a few weeks ago we went to the lake and it was iced over and he found it oodles of fun to break the ice   Oh to find joy in darn near everything LOL

Pork roast is smelling good, mashed sweet potatoes and field peas - I am sooooooo Southern ha ha

Yum!  That sounds good Karen!  I just got home from a busy day.  Its going to be an easy dinner for us tonight.  Tomorrow, it'll be Chicken N Dumplings.  Bugsy IS an adorable beast.  I love the profile pic on FB....him peeking out of the bushes.  Watching him slip and slide would have made me nervous too.

I posted some pics earlier he can't seem to do anything but run like a fool in the snow and seemed to think that sliding on ice was fun too.  Seriously he is a weirdo

It's cold and rainy here today.  I actually wish we'd gotten snow, because at least then the boys would want to play outside (they love snow!).  But just cold rain and all they want to do outside is their business and then come back inside and drive me nuts, lol.

Today turned out to be a pretty great day. I slept off and on until 1:30 (so needed that) then started house cleaning and laundry. Had to pick up abbies meds so while I was there I saw they had all their hunting / winter gear 75% off: fleece, jackets, snow pantsan etc. I got some lined snow pants for $15. I thought about getting a jacket too but didn't. I ended up getting a msu wind breaker that has zipper openings all over for breathability. That will make a good outer layer. Anyway, after that I met my friend with her 3 aussie over at the dog park. It was an ice rink but whatever. We all still enjoyed ourselves. Julie went to one end of the park and I went to the other and we called the dogs back and forth between us to run off their energy. They were all happy. I did get a dog nose jab to my face though. I thought my own nose was broke there for a second. Neiko and hawkeye (neiko's brother once removed?) Are exactly alike. They look alike and act alike. They both do the 4 paw bang and sometimes they add a nose jab in just for fun. Nothing like 50 lb dogs flying at you at 30mph hit you with a bang and a nose jab. You see stars. Crazy.

Once home, I did some doggy grooming: brushing, razoring paw fur, nail trimming, etc. Neiko and sunshine are shedding like crazy. What they really need is a bath abd blow dry but I just hate bathing them in my bathtub. I need to look in to grooming tubs
