    Mindless Chat Saturday

OK, I'm officially a year older today.  On the plus side, I made it another year, on the minus....well, I'm creeping ever closer to 60!!

Gray and dreary here today, with standing water from last nights down pour.  Man, we must have gotten 3 inches of rain!

Going to just flat out be lazy today, and maybe let the guys take me out for dinner.

    Happy Birthday, Glenda!

We have about 10 inches of snow and now it's sleeting on top.  Wowzers.  The dogs won't go out.  I'll see what I can improvise as a snow shovel and clear out a patch for them.

I made choco chip pancakes for breakfast.  Yum :-D.

    Thanks.

Wow!  Your weather sounds like a major mess!  Do you have a regular shovel?  Gosh, whatever you use tho, it's not going to be easy with ice on top of that much snow.

Glenda a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  Ya know my Grandpa always said it's your birthday for a week!!  Given all you do the boys better take you out to dinner and let you be lazy today or maybe..   all week! Stick out tongue

    Enjoy your day Glenda!!

My DH just took the kids to play lazer tag, yeah..   a few hours to get my stuff done.  No cleaning ladies this week cause we had snow and they cancelled so its up to me to clean.  I hate cleaning!!  yuck!!!!

Okay, don't laugh too hard, but since I don't have a regular shovel or a snow shovel..............I'm using a dustpan.  ROFL

Happy Birthday, Glenda!!!!! Cake  I know how you feel about approaching 60, it seems so old.  But I thought the same about 40 and 50 and inside, I still feel like I should be 30 something. lol  My joints don't agree though. lol

I'm at the office catching up on paperwork.  The sun is out but it's pretty nippy.  I brought Twister for company even though he knows we aren't supposed to work on Saturday.  lol

Amen to that! Funny how our perspective changes with the birthdays.

Happy Birthday Glenda!! I hope you enjoy every minute of your special day and get the pampering you deserve.

I slept crummy and woke up at 5:30 and thought it was 6:30. I got a very early start on house cleaning though and like the idea that I'll be done soon and can enjoy the rest of the day watching HGTV or the Food Channel. I'm starving though, so I'd better stick to HGTV until I eat or I'll raid the frig and cupboards.

It rained thru the night and is gloomy today. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow and then chance of rain every day next week.

Happy Birthday Glenda!!! and many, many more Party!!!

Moonlight we only got about 5-6 inches plus ice (still coming down) and Bugsy says he feels gyped!  He loves the snow and I am struggling to keep him inside ha ha

Lazy day and it feels wonderful.  It would be more relaxing if Mr obsessive would stop asking to go out.

I am frustrated as with Bugsy being dark and the white snow and overcast skies all my pics are too dark or not well focused. Sad

    Happy Birthweek Glenda!  Enjoy it!

I've taken mom to the beauty parlour for her shampoo and set.  I've gone to the grocery store for the week....and now I'm about to go to DHs shop to work for a couple of hours.  No rest for the weary.

See ya later.  Be safe and warm everyone!

I'm still amused by a comment made by my boss the other day. There was a puppy (a byb client's dog had a pup whose mother...who was on at least her fourth litter...wouldn't feed the pups. They all seemed to have an inability to suckle as well) who had to be taken home for hourly feedings. The owner of any puppy that need be taken home gets charged $100 per night...which is fine, I suppose. However, the tech taking the pup home gets no bonus whatsoever. We're paid hourly..not salaried.   When another vet asked our boss if the tech got a bonus, she replied "it's not all about money, you know"..which is so laughable.

Now, I am fully aware that vet offices need to make money. I don't even have a problem with them charging the owner that amount. I just think that the person who is going to be essentially staying up all night should get some sort of reward for doing so.

There is a reason I do not take baby animals home...I am not getting no reward for staying up all night, and then being expected to function for 9 1/2 hours at work the next day.  I also have a terrier that would likely try to eat a baby animal (the one night I took kittens home was awful...soo much whining and spinning from the hooligan), but that's neither here nor there. Stick out tongue

    Happy birthday glenda!

I deserve a lazy day today. However, I am going to do laundry and clean at some point. I also need to go to work, but I'm thinking about doing that tomorrow after sar training.

The dogs need to run at some point too. To bad its like 5 degrees outside! Oh and I have to pick up abbies meds.

So much for a lazy day!

    Happy Birthday Glenda!Cake

Now that is just wrong not to compensate the tech taking the babies home. That is a lot of work! If the vet was doing it, you can sure bet she would expect to be paid extra. Sounds kind of like the tech needs some of Amanda's gumption on demanding more pay for more work!

I really  need to finish my menu/grocery list, but I am totally pulling a blank. *sigh* I would much rather sit here and cuddle with the puppers under the blankets and watch the babies sleep and try to play. Oh well, guess it won't do itself. Huh?

Hope everyone has a decent day. Yes

Success!  I cleared off a path to the yard, and a spot for pottying.  I also took Kya on a walk around the block.  The other two are being weenies.

Bugsy is welcome to all the snow in my backyard!  It's really great for playing in.  :-D  Makes me wish I had a hill and a sled.  Too powdery for snowballs and snowmen though.

I think a hot bowl of soup would be nice.  Hmmm, and maybe a nap before chores.

    Thanks everyone.

I waited until DH had gone into the station to clean up the mess I made in the oven so I didn't get scolded for "working" today!  Something ran over in the oven earlier in the week, something that apparently was flamable.  I had used the oven last night and thought since it was already hot, I'd just flip it over to clean.  NOT a good idea.  Whatever had spilled decided to FLAME and the stench in the kitchen was dreadful.....wide open doors and windows and FANS to air it out.

This morning I scrapped the burned stuff out,and tried again.  Stunk to high heaven.  So, after DH left I did the baking soda/vinegar volcano....TWICE...all over the floor of the oven, did more scrapping and scrubbing, and NOW have the self cleaning function cleaning it all.  Fortunately, it no longer smells like I'm incinerating trash!  Or plastic.

And that's all I'm doing today.  But that was really something I did not want to leave.  I'm still bopping around the house in sweat pants and a flannel, so that should tell you how lazy I'm being!

Gosh, I can't believe the weather you guys are getting!  We just got flooded again.  Guess I'll take that over snow.  And, shoot, the dustpan was a GREAT idea!  Whatever it takes!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you .... I had my big day on Thursday (28th), also creeping ever so close to 60. I used to be embarrassed to tell my age so now when someone asks I simply add a decade. Everyone is amazed at how young I look. LOL!
