Last night I sliced my finger with a loose thread on a Brillo pad.  Hurts like a son-of-a-gun still this morning.

Dropped a full bottle of body wash in the shower this morning.  It hit my ankle on the way down, but missed my toe.

Now I'm waiting for the 3rd incident and then I should be good for a few days.

    Did Deb go on vacation?

Tina, I hope if there is a third incident, it's minor.  How's Agnes doing these days?

    Deb's around somewhere.

My day started badly.  I'd share but it's depressing and no point in bringing everyone else down.  It's nothing to do with me personally just another case of someone who thinks dogs are throw away pets.

    ETA, have fun Erica!

Agnes is doing okay.  Last weekend I made up some of Callie's homemade cough syrup and it does help.  Fortunately Agnes likes honey, so she doesn't seem to mind the lemon or slippery elm.  I couldn't find "Clear Lungs", so got something call Lung Support and it seems to help.

She's had a few days where she didn't really want to walk very far, but otherwise, she's hanging tough.

My morning is awesome today.  Woke up to Cody being awake and dressed!!  He is such a awesome kid!  My boss gave me the info on my PFP (Performance Plan) -  the company, our department and my personal development goals were all met and I received a huge bonus!  Yeah!!  Our customer service rating were so high at 9.3 that they double that payout.  I am going to surprise DH with a quick trip to Vegas for our anniversay next month, he's never been to Vegas and we both love to gamble.Devil

Hope the rest of the day keep the pace!

I'm here !!!!  I took two mental health days in which I did nothing but cuddle on the couch with Jamison and watch Food Network all day.  It was wonderful !!!!   Of course now I'm swamped at work but that'll have to wait until I catch up with everything going on here.

Rough morning here. None of the two kids I see in the morning was having a good day. The first one I'm pretty sure was late for school since he needs to leave about 5 minutes after I leave his house to get there on time. He wasn't even half dressed when I left. I wish they would give him detention just once, but they won't because he has autism. He can understand plenty well as to why he was in detention, especially considering that they told him before he went to high school that this would happen. Now he knows there is no real consequence since it hasn't happened. I think because they would have to pay an aide to stay with him. Basically, we need to come up with something to motivate him to get up and get moving. The second kid didn't sleep right, and his mom insists on putting milk on his cereal when he wants it dry. I haven't been kicked by him in so long. I hope this was a one time thing. This afternoon has been canceled because that kid is sick.

I need to clean out my car today, because I don't really have time tomorrow, and I am picking up the new one on Friday.  I took the roll bar bags off and cleaned those out, so now I can sell them on ebay. I have a lot of odd stuff in the car. What person really needs a blanket and a towel, a pair of slide sandals and flip flops? A squeegee, and a scraper with a squeegee, three things of de-icer. Obviously I am not moving lots of that to the new one, and it'll stay inside till I use up the other stuff. I also need to run out to walmart some time to pick up my other pair of glasses.

I'm feeling really committed to eating healthy and losing the weight. It's the same feeling I had when I first lost the weight, so I think I'm finally mentally ready! Maybe it's just because it's been "warm" and sunny lately, but I'm going to run with it. I also remembered that I'm going to get money back on my taxes, so I'm going to get myself a nice treadmill with the money. It means having to wait a bit, but I'm really excited! I haven't really bought myself anything in a long while (aside from essentials and some small treats like books and candles), so this will be a nice (and healthy) gift to myself.

Also, my dog is weird. Our river has flooded, causing the field out back to flood and ice over. Well Ari has been voicing her displeasure at this. Seriously, she is PISSED off barking at the field because she seems to know it means no off leash romps for a bit until it drains out. I just hope her barking this morning didn't wake our neighbors. I settled her down as quick as possible, but boy oh boy was she unhappy!

I'm getting moles removed today.  A doosie on my back and whichever other ones the Dr. sees fit.  I don't know what to expect because they said it's no big deal, but my mom had the same thing earlier this week and came home with 20 stitches on her face, she looks like a Frankenstein monster.  I wore a baggy hoody to work since I probably won't be able to wear a bra for several days?  The ones that bother me are because they get caught in my bra so they are all under where the straps fit or where it closes in the back.  They're always getting caught and torn.

I got new ski boots last night! Now I just need to get the bindings on my skis and I'm ready to go.

I woke up early today because I had to drive FH in to work for 8 (he left his car at my work last night and we forgot to come back and get it). I dropped him off and went grocery shopping - it is so fast at 8am! There is no one around so I can just run in, grab things and go. I think I might make a habit of this at least one day a week. We used to grocery shop at like 2am when we lived in the city, but nothing is open here that late, so morning it will have to be.

I am avoiding working right now, because I am trying to figure out something I have no idea how to do.

Stacer, Derek and I do our groceries a around midnight on Saturdays.  We love it!

And what are you working on?  Do you need help?  I might know

Most dogs DO like honey.  But the joke is, I used to make that for Ms. Socks ALL the time and no trouble getting her to slurp that down.  Well one night .. **GASP* I RAN OUT OF HONEY!!!

So I reached way in the back of the cupboard and got a little "heather honey" that I'd gotten when I was in Scotland when David and I were first engaged.  Bees make honey from virtually ANY flower and in Scotland where there are vast fields of heather ... yep, Heather Honey.  I was sort of hoarding it because it was a special memory .. But HEY -- Socks needed it, right?

Now every different "flower" produces a bit different taste -- "clover" honey (which is what you get in a grocery store most of the time) tastes different than wildflower honey or whatever you have close to you locally.  I usually get Orange Blossom Honey - and yeah it sorta smells/tastes like orange blossoms, but I didn't even think that heather honey was a bit darker and a bit different flavor.

Poor Socks -- she slurped into that and almost choked to death;.  She gave me this look like "THAT"S SPOILED OR SUMTHIN!!!"  I mean ... I guess I can take it THIS time, but ***THAT*** isn't good stuff!!"

Well, needless to say I went to the store and got some **GOOD** honey pretty fast.  Wouldn't want to upset an old boxer/pit mix now would I???

It gave us a good giggle anyway -- who knew dogs could become honey connisseurs!!!  Agnes -- enjoy sweetie!!

I was hoping she'd take the cough syrup since I did buy raw honey for nearly $14.00/lb.  I used 3/4 cup, which wasn't the whole jar, but still a bit pricey, though it made a lot of syrup - just over 8 oz, I think.  I didn't want to just use regular honey!

Funny thing, as soon as I was cooking it up, it reminded me of some natural cough syrup I'd bought for me once.  I'd found it on a clearance rack and since I have to be careful with meds because of the Zoloft I take, I thought "great, no funky added stuff I don't want".  So anyway, when I smelled the syrup I was making for Agnes, I went, "the slippery elm must have been the weird flavor in that natural stuff I'd bought for me."  Small world.

ROCK ON!!!  That's fantastic!!!!  So many companies right now are not even able to do that, even when the employees perform to such high levels.  Congratulations on your earned bonus, that really is something to be proud of!!!  Enjoy your anniversary trip, too!

Erica, have fun on your vacation!!  Hope it's relaxing and full of good memories!

Liesje, good luck at the doctor.

Gracie is at the vet this morning to get her vaccinations updated.  My sister is bringing her "youngest" in to get his nostril checked FINALLY (it's been jacked since July, but she wanted to take care of the old man's knee first), so she's bringing in G, too.  I gave her a memo-pad sized note (you know, like 1/3 the size of a sheet of paper) to give to the vet to explain some lumps, the thing on her tongue because I don't have the AZ vet records, and one other thing.  My sister gave me *** for it.  Yesterday morning, I started my day with her telling me I took too long on my own essay questions for an exam.  When I told her I'd taken 20 mins, she argued it was an hour.  I took the goddamn test, I know how much time I had.  So, two days in a row with some criticism to start off my day and I'm in a foul mood.

I might make myself a dartboard with her picture.... or mine for putting up with this crap and not doing enough to get myself out of it.

Edit to add - the young man I saw from the train yesterday, digging through trash cans for food, passed me on my walk to the train today.  Although I didn't have much money, he got it and my orange, and he was one of a very small handful of people who have asked for money who looked genuinely grateful.  I hate to imagine what put him in that situation.  Andre Bauer (of South Carolina) can suck it.
