TGIF Mindless Chatter

Oooh Jewlieee, that always makes me shiver when I hear of somebuddy chewing through an electrical cord. 

Candace...I would definately be annoyed if someone made plans; then changed them just because....grrrr.

I need to take another picture of my cheek and eye to show you.  The coloring has subsided greatly.  I think its because of how I've been treating it.  Some Arnica Gel followed by Traumeel Cream consistently throughout the day.  Also, taking the Traumeel pills 3 times a day.  And, having a blueberry smoothie every day. 

The beef stew turned out gooooood.  Delish.

Yay!!!  I get to finally meet my friends' new baby tonight!!  I've had a cold pretty much since she was born, so didn't want to pass along any germs, but now I'm healthy and cannot wait to meet the wee little one! 

Now if BF would just hurry up and get ready to go.....and they say us women take forever getting ready...

Barb, I have used smoked turkey wings or a leg the last two times I made split pea soup and it is so good that way.  Callie, I like toast with my soup too and not too thick on the soup.  I don't have an immersion blender so I just put my little portable blender in the pot and mix for a brief time. Probably not safe but I don't get the beaters completely immersed.  Headlines will read: "Woman killed in freak soup accident, graphic pictures". lol

Candace, that girl is thoughtless.  I'd be ticked off too.  **hands Candace a whiskey sour**

Barb, I'm glad your cheek and eye are looking better. 

Julie, feel better and tell Abbie she has used up all her extra lives and her good luck.  Geez.  I hope that escaped dog gets trapped soon. 

Did anyone see that story on NBC of the dog rescue in LA?  The dog was in one of those concrete canals that was, of course, flooding.  Yay that people care enough to save that dog.   They lowered a fireman down from a helicopter, pretty dramatic.  The dog tried to bite the guy, scared brainless, but luckily the fireman made the rescue unharmed.  Put a smile on my face.

I called my sis in Phoenix because they are getting slammed with the same storms that hit CA.  She said it's been wild but they haven't lost any trees and no problems where she lives. 

 I for one think split pea soup is totally gross.

I ate all of my hummus. I had half a pound, and I ate it all.

I am looking for a destination for a long romantic weekend.  I was planning on taking DH to Puerto Vallarta, but I've reconsidered.  Now, I'm looking for something in the lower 48 states, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for.

DH & the boys went bowling with my brothers, & some of DH's friends.  I'm almost afraid of what the kids learn tonight.

Actually, Sanibel Island is really nice too - on the other side of the state though.

Blue Dog Bakery sponsored the event BF is coordinating for our HS - they send us 24 boxes of treats, and at least 500 ''100 calorie packs'' of more treats, plus a whole stack of $1 off coupons. My dogs are going CRAZY - dey want da treats!! I locked them in the hall closet. (The treats, not the dogs.)

The money fairy has hit. Lucky me, I still need to pay off my ER bills from when that pit attacked Pirate. Two of the bills are at collection agencies now, so I guess I can call and negotiate with them on Monday. Oh joy.

Oregon's wine country!Or, Oregon's beaches.  I can give you the name of an upscale hotel here in town that is GORGEOUS and a B&B on the beach as well.  If you'd like more info, just LMK.

I spent an hour Thursday and another today brushing out the latest shelter dog--a small Shih Tsu bitch.  What a sweetie! She is about 8 months old and is in pretty good shape except for some mats (not serious, but need to be addressed).  I am so NOT a groomer,but I worked on the mats for quite awhile ans she was soooo good.  I also trimmed the "wax mats" out of her ears. She has the cutest little face and an underbite that is to die for. 

DH and I had a hot date tonight--NOT.  We went to Walmart and Winco for groceries. I finally found some jeans that fit and bought four pairs because I was down to two ratty looking ones. We came home to a house full of teenagers making lava cakes in the kitchen and reading, "You might be a redneck" jokes to each other.
