    TGIF Mindless Chatter

Yay for Friday!  Yesterday was beautiful weather and today is more of the same.  I'm finishing up my breakfast and then off to work.  Our treadmill is acting strange but DH looked up the troubleshooting guide and is sure he can fix it himself.  Please send good thoughts for the treadmill. lol

Here too!  Yesterday was gorgeous...too bad I was holed up in an office.  But, today I work from home....maybe I can enjoy some of this beautiful weather.  Freezing last week, coats and mittens.  Warm and sunny, shorts and tank tops this week.  Only in Texas.  Big Smile

I accidently hit my face in the middle of the night, ouch.  Then, this morning I wake up to a left eye almost swollen shut.  LOL.  DH asks what he is going to do with me.  I gave him my canned answer to that.  Roll me up and throw me away.  Big Smile

Good thoughts for the treadmill.  I need to get on mine and walk a mile while watching Six Feet Under.  After I drink my coffee.

woohoo the boy is back - went out for the paper with him and he nailed a mole on the way in. On leash and all LOL

Having a close up of the action dang this boy is fast and whatever he senses he KNOWS where the mole is - very cool.

His reward was a nice knuckle bone to start the day.

We went from 65* and sunny to rainy and 37* yesterday - overcast and low 40's today.  Not sure what I am going to do with my mom today.  I sure was wishing the weather would be decent.

Good vibes for the treadmill Wink I love it when DH decides HE can fix it.  However that is much preferable to when I say I am going to fix it.  Sometimes creativity is a downfall

OK best go say good morning to mom

My Friday started off with my SO waking up around 3:45am with neck pain. He went downstairs, I dozed off and the next thing I hear is "I need help". Go downstairs and he is on the floor. He passed out in the chair and fell out of it. Thank goodness he didn't hit anything. He had serious pain in his neck. After debating whether or not to go to the emergency room, we finally decided better safe than sorry since. The emergency room nurses (one male and one female) were beyond weird. The guy was awkward as all heck and had the personality of a rock. The woman was just weird and annoying. An xray later and they diagnose him with torticollis (basically a painful as all heck muscle spasam). He passed out because he was having a hard time breathing deep because of the pain in his neck.

I called work and said I'd be in later because I still need to drive him to pick up his pain medication at the pharmacy. The whole time we were in the emergency room he was apologizing and thanking me for waiting with him (I have issues with hospitals and really am not comfortable being in them). Silly guy, where else would I be?!

Hopefully, it will be an uneventful day at work. I'm not planning on staying late to make up for my missed morning hours, they can just deduct it from my sick time (since I very rarely call out sick anyway). It's Friday after all and the last thing I want to do is be at work any later in the day than necessary.

Karen, I think we need a camera underneath your plot of earth.  I think you have a City just below you.  LOL

Sharon....poor DH, I know that hurt.  Hope he feels better today.

Jackie, good vibes for your treadmill!

Karen, glad Bugsy did something "normal" this morning!

Sharon, that must have been scary for both you and S/O!

My work pile went down a bit from my eyeballs - I think it is just touching my chin now.

    Good vibes for everyone!

Sharon, I hope your Dh will be better!!

I had a nice sleep last night, though it started in the middle of watching my show oops!

I am going to buy stuff for the dogs and cats at the animal shelter in the town I live in.  I'm going to do that tomorrow morning.  I have to be very careful though that I don't meet any of the dogs, or else i will come home with all of them.  I am really bad like that.  And although I would love to adopt a dog from the shelter (preferably an older dog) Derek and I are away from the house literally 12 hours a day (leave at 6am come home abotu 6pm) and it's just not fair to a dog to leave them that amount of time alone, and right now we can't afford a dog sitter or dog walker and Derek has issues about strangers being in the house alone lol.

But what I think is great, is on the website for the animal shelter in my town, it doesn't just ask for money, they have a wishlist of specific things for the dogs or cats that they need, like Kongs, rope toys, rawhides, haltis etc.  I know it seems funny, but I'm very leery of giving money, because you don't really know where it is going to.  At least I know if I buy a kong or rope toys the workers won't chew on those!  Or will they.....lol

Well, I survived my trip to the burning pit of hell otherwise known as the NJ Division of Motor Vehicles yesterday.  New license is good until 2014 now.  I think I'm going to read my kindle instead of doing any work today.  I mean it IS Friday, right ??

Ahhhh....I'm so relaxed today. No urgent deadlines. No annoying co-workers. No pain in my jaw. Life is good.

The results from my x-ray show no fractures. That is good. So, we are going with the medication theory. The doc is going to call me back later today.

I was out last night helping put up fliers for a lost deaf ACD. He's staying in a relatively small radius from where he was lost so that is good. He was also spotted laying on the blanket that was put out for him (with food and water). Today they are getting a trap out there. Hopefully, that'll get him quick. He's been running loose for over a week now. He slipped his collar during a potty break. He was only at his foster home for less than an hour. Seriously, all foster dogs should either have harnesses or martingale collars on!

its the whole neighborhood - I've never lived anywhere that had moles before this, here they are rampant.  B had cleared our yard of them and we had none for a long time but with him being out of action we have some serious tunnels - ankle breakers I call them - so I was thrilled he nailed that stinker.  I know of one more area he needs to work!

Julie I hope you find that dog and I  agree about martingales or harnesses

Oops I just hit something on my keyboard and now I am missing the top and bottom of my screen - ugh I hope I can undo this .......

Sharon glad that SO is essentially OK - very scary!

    Tina you go girl!

OK have a client shortly and will need to undo whatever I have just done to this screen, sigh

I'm kinda glad this week is nearly over --  David is working mega hours (end of the "year" stuff, plus computer stuff, plus he's conscientious) but he's worked til 10 - 12 every night this week (and he leaves the house at 7:00 a.m.)

I'm one of those who won't eat without him (it's the only "together" time we get cos otherwise he falls asleep -- understandably) so *I* am running short on sleep as well by the time we get dinner sorted out.  I'm finding it hard to finish a thot today.  Too easily distracted.

Thanks guys! He'll be fine, just needs to take it easy for the next 2-3 days and he's on some meds for the inflammation and pain. He definitely used up his "scare the living daylights out of me" card for the rest of the year. He's a pretty stoic guy about pain, so for him to be complaining, I can't imagine how he must have been feeling. Seeing him ghost white on the floor was not cool either.

Although, at one point he was trying to get his shirt back on in the emergency room, hard to do when one side of your neck is screaming and the look on his face was ridiculous that I started laughing and then he started laughing. Yeah, we're weird.

Right now we're both just tired. It would figure, I went to bed late last night which I hardly ever do! At least work is quiet, and my coworkers are so wonderful that they did some of my work for me this morning, even though they knew I'd be in later. I may not like several aspects about my job, but my coworkers rock, seriously a bunch of great people!

They made up a game to teach people how to use that screwy business that is office 2007. Can I just say, bring back the normal menus. This junk is why I am using office 2003 in xp. I would be using Open Office, but it can't handle the graphing I need to do.

TGIF.  If I work REALLY hard today, I'll be able to take TWO whole days off.

Taking a running leap at the huge stack of stuff to do.....

Sharon - I've had the same thing as your SO and I know how painful it is. I hope the meds help but if you haven't already tried them, the ThermaCare neck wraps are amazing.

It's not raining right now but it started yesterday at around 11 AM and I don't think it stopped until early this morning. It'd be nice if we had a long enough break to dry out a little bit.

I got my IPod Nano yesterday from the Hilton. It's a tiny little thing that has a lot of features. I just need to figure out what they are and how to use it.

I was reading the end of yesterday's MC thread and now I have a craving for hummus.
