    Saturday MC

     ugh

DH going against my explicit instructions to NOT play with beastie, did.  This as always led to beastie running away down the hardwood hallway and tiled kitchen.

It ended when B slipped, his repaired leg splaying out perpendicular to his body and me nearly vomiting.

This happened over an hour ago and I am still a wreck.  B is subdued and not wanting to put weight on his leg.

OK let's see I am going to make a chicken soup for lunch from the leftovers in the fridge.

I need to do yardwork and I need to clean my house.

    I also need a tranquilizer

    have a great day

Oh wow!  I hope he's ok.  Hubby....has he recovered from the @ss chewing yet?  I hope you gave it to him GOOD.

Warm here today, but pouring rain and windy.  Supposed to be like this all day and night, and we're looking at TWO inches of rain in the daytime hours alone!  Yikes.

I'm really having trouble getting motivated to do anything this morning.  The house is squeaky clean and obviously can't do yardwork today....that leaves laundry!  Yuck.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh no, Karen.  I can't believe how truly clueless men can be sometimes.  I will be praying that B suffered no real damage.  I know your DH meant no harm and I don't mean to sound so critical but having a husband who did a very similar thing after Tia's surgery makes me truly feel your anguish.  Tia was fine despite limping badly for one day.  I hope that's the outcome here.

I've almost caught up with Dawn. Wink  The house is 90% finished on the cleaning, two loads of laundry done and my filthy vehicle cleaned on the interior.  We are going to see Avatar and DH is excited as a kid for me to see it with him. :)  He saw it already and said it wasn't the best movie he's ever seen but it was the best movie experience, if that makes sense.  I hope the 3D doesn't bother me.  He said the new 3D is not like the old style, we'll see.

Our backyard is a lake after all the rain.  The dogs love it. Sad

    • Gold Top Dog

    Haha Jackie.

Glenda, our yard is currently a mud pit, Kord loves it but I hate it.

BUGSY! What were you thinking? BUGSY"S DAD! Spankins!

Karen, seriously I hope it is just fine after a bit of rest.

The 3D really was lovely in that movie.  Its not like so many others that just toss it in for shock value with having parts when all of a sudden one thing in the move with appear to stick way out on an otherwise flat screen.  In this movie it has a very subtle layering to the effects that enhance the overall experience.

I don't want to jinx it, but, I think our horrible neighbor has been moved to the south tower!!

    Here's the reader's digest version:

This guy was moved into our tower (north) while they were rebuilding his home in the south tower.  He's a retired prison guard which has made him a bully, so, the condo company was bullied into "letting him" park in a handicapped parking spot w/ no plackard or license plate while he was living in the north tower.  Because it was a handicapped spot, fiance's 93 yr old grandma parked there.  This man came home and got into the face of this 93 yr old woman and told her that the next time she parked in "his spot" he'd have her POS car towed and she'd never see it again...a 93 year old woman. So, fiance yelled at him and told him to never speak to his grandma like that again.  FF about 4 months.  I was bringing Maggie in from a potty break and this guy's daughter and her son were going out as I was going in...she cut the corner sharp and bumped into Maggie...I pulled Maggie back and the woman's 11 yr old son cussed me out!! I mean, called me the "c word"!! I turned to his mother, who reiterated the things her son said.  I filed a complaint with Management who told me the 11 yr old had multiple complaints against him for harassing the homosexual people in the building.  The daughter tried to say that Maggie viciously attacked her, so, after a letter from our vet stating that Maggie is the calmest, kindest dog he has ever met and if anyone would know the temperment of this animal, it would be the man who pokes her with needles and puts things in her butt (I love my vet), and watching the security tape, she decided to drop it.  The 11 yr old tried to say hello to my fiance a few months later, and fiance said "don't talk to me until you can apologise to my fiancee"  The 11 yr old cursed him out, then ran to his grandpa saying that my fiance said "f your family" and threatened him...grandpa came to our door threatening my fiance and telling him that if he had anything to do with it, fiance wouldn't see his retirement badge.  Then, the man called me white trash and a liar...fiance said "do you want to talk to her?" the guys "said "no, that's ok"  So, he couldn't even call me white trash to my face...anyways, this episode made something snap in me, so, I had his pretty little mercedes towed from the handicapped spot. Management switched his spot to a legal spot 4 cars from mine, so, his wife has been growling at me and staring me down in the elevator.  A week ago, I was getting ready to go out to grab a few things as he was coming in and he purposely blocked the hallway so I had to squeeze past him to get out. This man reeks of gin at 11am then gets into his mercedes and drives off. I'm one of NUMEROUS people in this building who has stories about this man and his family.  There is a guy who is the sweetest man you'd ever want to meet, and he has altered his schedule to avoid dealing with this man and his family in the elevator. Anyways, I haven't seen his car, his van, and his daughter's car in a few days, which is rare for them...his van stays parked on the street (right in front of our bedroom window) for weeks at a time...so, I'm hoping they moved them back to the south tower...if this were the case, I would litterally only deal with them if we so happened to need the concierge desk at the same time....I'm SOOO HAPPY!!  This has totally made my day!!

Sorry for the long story, but, I'm just SOO FLIPPIN HAPPY!!  Keep your fingers crossed for me!  BEST WEDDING PRESENT EVER!

Bugs, don't scare your momma so much, I hope you're feeling better!!

Gaci nearly took a tumble off the dog walk last night, and I almost had a heart attack. At least it made her become more conscious of what her back end is doing - time to do more hind-end awareness work with the little lady. But on another note, the girls are doing so fabulously. Shimmer is coming along so fast, and while I don't say it around Gaci, she's going to be a much better agility dog I think *G*. Time will tell though. And I'm endlessly amazed with Gaci's renewed interest in agility, she is flying over those obstacles like she's on fire - I can't keep up with her anymore. Embarrassed

I've got a date with my sister and my nephew to go shopping today. She still can't carry his car seat for long periods because of her surgery, so I'm going as the helper. Any excuse, though, really to hang with my little man is enough for me!!! *G*

Have fun at Avatar Jackie, it's my current favorite movie. I'm actually thinking of buying it when it comes out.

Bugsy, hope you take it easy and feel better soon!

I am so glad to have Monday off.  This week has been very frustrating at work, and I didn't even get to eat lunch twice this week, so I am very glad for a short respite!

I'm going to head up to the mall soon, and see what they have going on for the "holiday" sales, sigh another  excuse to try to get people in.  But, I'm also going to stop at Home depot for paint colors since I really want to paint most of the inside of the house when it gets nicer.  I'm having a really hard time coming up with colors.  We have an open floor plan so it's hard to paint rooms different colors since they share walls in the downstairs, and the whole house has beautiful dark wood trim which is making my color selection for the bathrooms tougher.  Choices, choices!

And now, I'm declaring it lunch time and am off in search of bad food to eat!

The chicken soup was awesome!  nothing like a clear out the fridge soup!

I gave Bugsy an anti-inflammatory and am hoping for the best.  This wasn't his fault.  DH & he have played this game since he was a pup.  It has been forbidden since we discovered his knee was bad.  This wasn't an oopsie, this was his back leg so splayed his pelvis touched the floor.  As for DH I can't look or speak to him.  I have a huge pit in my stomach, no words.  10 weeks of hardship and progress, not to mention $3k, and it may all be gone in a flash.

Laundry done. lots of cleaning done and off to work in the yard for a while

    • Gold Top Dog

I hope Bugsy is ok!  I would be awfully upset as well!

I'm also cleaning, but the house has a showing at 1pm, so I am obligated to clean, otherwise, I'd just let everything slide. Although I'm happy that it has forced me to keep up with laundry.  Smaller loads and just 1 or 2 a day instead of 6 or more per day once a week.  Looks like it is pretty nice outside. Goin to take the kids sledding while the house is showing.  Dogs will have to wait for us in the car :(  Poor woofers.

Played ball indoors with Gobie this morning for maybe 10 minutes and he is pooped, sleeping in the sun in the living room.  It's sad to me that he has very little stamina anymore.  He's gotten to be a really nice dog- finally at age 14!! LOL

Well that's the meanderings of my mind for the moment!

I'm sure my ultra-buddhist friend would have some positive enlightening thing to say about such a "troubled" family... but, screw 'em!  I do wonder what in the world creates people like that, though.  Can you imagine what sort of hostility that man brought out in the people in the prison? Geez.

I hate it when I pour a bowl of cereal only to find we're all out of milk.

I am incredibly proud of my old company, Timberland.  An email to their employees was forwarded to me and to read all the things they're doing for the earthquake victims in Haiti is just.... incredible.  Last fall they announced a collaborative effort with Wyclef Jean to help work on reforestation and other projects in Haiti through Yéle Haiti.  More to follow... gotta go run.

OK, it started innocently enough.  I went out to the freezer to find something for dinner.  I ended up digging through, sorting, straightening and reorganizing BOTH freezers and came in with THREE different things I'm gonna cook today.  Oppps.  But, the weather is crappy so what better way to spend a crappy day?

Corky did it again.  Quacking like crazy and then I glanced in and she was rolling yet another egg to the crate door.  Wierd!  I really wish she'd slow down on the eggs.....8 in 9 days seems like wayyyy too much for her little body.

Off to cook...IN the kitchen, just in case Amanda is reading!

Karen - I seriously hope that Bugsy is okay and I totally understand how you feel. I know it might not help at this point, but I'm betting your DH is feeling very awful about this.

Jackie - let me know what you think about the 3D version of Avatar. I curious as to whether you get the sensation that things are coming off the screen with the movie in 3D.

I slept crummy last night. I'd had a cup of tea in the evening and it was supposed to be low in caffeine but it must've had enough to cause a problem for me. Good thing it's Sat. and I can take a nap.

We went to the gym around 7:30 and the fog was the worst I've seen it this year. I'm so glad that DH was driving and there weren't many people on the road. You couldn't see more than maybe 2-3 car lengths in front of you and couldn't see the stoplights until you were right at the intersection. It's beautiful and sunny now but the rain is supposed to arrive later today.

DH is working tomorrow and Monday, so I'm not doing any housecleaning today. I'd love to get it out of the way but I'd rather spend a relaxing day with DH and deal with it later.

I'm waiting for the "big storm" that's supposed to hit tomorrow and last all week.  Yeah.  Right. I might cruise over to Target later and stock up on some things I'm running out of since I don't feel like driving to Wally.  For any i-doggers that might be living anywhere in the Sacramento area, Feb. 28 is "Spay/Neuter Day." For $20 a dog and $15 a cat, you can get up to two pets spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and get flea preventive. The UCD vet school sponsors this and vet clinics all over participate.  The only requirements are living in Yolo, Placer or Sacramento County and making $35K or less a year.  If anyone wants more details, just pm me. Big Smile I went to the feed store in Dixon yesterday to get Max some more EP ... they changed the color/design of the bag and lightened it by 3 lbs., keeping the same price.  Why am I not surprised??

OK, I must have really missed something.  Who the heck is Dixon??????
