LOL Glenda. Dixon sounds like a place to me. Better start another pot of coffee. Stick out tongue

I'm having a good day so far. Brought Willa to her dancing class (kind of like kids' zumba) at the Y. She was not as shy as last time. I bet the next class is going to be even better!

Just going through the posts. Karen, that sucks about B. I hope you chewed your dh (not dear in this case) a new one.

Maggiesmom: what a crazy story! Too bad they couldn't throw the guy out all together for harrassing other residents. I'm glad you had his car towed. What a jerk off

A local news person met us at a park this morning to watch us train neiko and mischa for sar with the girl scouts. It turned out great. Neiko and mischa both "found" 3 girls each and the reporter got some awesome shots of the dogs interacting with the girls. She got one pic with neiko doing his bang indication (he flies through the air and lands with all 4s on my chest basically). She is going to give me a copy of all of the photos. That one is going in a frame :) I am not sure when the news article will be published but I will post it for sure!

Tonight is the annual agility club party so I need to get moving for that. I'm so comfy right out of the hot tub tho I don't want to go back out in the cold!

Right!  Dixon is a town about 8 miles directly west of Davis on I-80, home of the closest Super-Wally  and the feed store that's the only place for miles around that I can find EP.

Julie that is awesome!  I look forward to reading the article and seeing some pics

very, very thankfully B seems to be OK.  He has been pacing all day with a rawhide, hiding it and then finding it Confused.  When I wake him for the end of the night business I'll get a better picture of whether he is using the leg properly or not.  As for dh he has been fairly sheepish and lying low today.  Honestly I have no words.

I loved Avatar!  I loved the 3D effect, much to my surprise.  The visual aspect of this movie is really stunning and the story was great.  This describes how I felt about the 3D perfectly:

In this movie it has a very subtle layering to the effects that enhance the overall experience.

ETA: Karen, we were posting at the same time.  I'm so happy to hear that B seems to be ok.  I felt that bottom dropping out of the stomach sensation when I read your earlier post.

Karen, it's good to hear that Bugsy seems to be doing ok, I hope this is still the case later tonight when you take him out.

FH and I are off in a bit go to the Banff Film Festival (the tour stop in my town).  It should be a good night, I've never been before though.  Either way, there's a bar right next door. hehehe.  I'd better get going and get ready actually!

I've gotta get the house cleaned tomorrow, I am going to try and get a few realtors in next week to see about selling it.  Fingers crossed that goes well.

    • Gold Top Dog

Karen, I hope Bugsy keeps feeling better and his leg is okay.

Maggiesmom, I hope you don't have to deal with that family again!  Bad neighbors can be the worst.

Jewlieee, congrats to you and Neiko!  You deserve some recognition, and a newspaper article is just cool.  :)

As for me, River had puppy class today.  He did really well on his walking, sitting, and come.  The other puppies were so adorable.  I met a fluffy corgi for the first time, and he was just charming.  And I must admit the doodle puppy was cute.  We'll practice together some, but next week should be fun.

I didn't get all my cleaning done.  I've caught a lazy bug, lol.  I'll go put more clothes on and vaccuum.

    Phew!  Good news about B.

I seriously think I have some sort of sickness.

Two loaves of sun dried tomato facosia

    one dutch apple pie

three meals of a chicken/veggie/tomato dish that gets served over farfalle

three meals of red beans to go over rice

two big shepherds pies (just waiting for the taters to finish cooking)

oh, and last but not least, I made a big batch of the corn flake/pecan crumb mixture for french toast tomorrow.

I JUST put 3 dozen large burritos and two meat loaves in the freezer on Thursday.

    Maybe I need therapy?

Maybe I just need a good stiff drink!  Or a few good hits so I can't do this to myself again!

Off to cook...IN the kitchen, just in case Amanda is reading!

Glenda, I've "cooked" in the kitchen before.  Last time I ended up with a concussion, & I've avoided the kitchen since. Embarrassed

Karen, your DH is one lucky man to have you.  Had my DH done that, we would both be at the hospital right now having my foot surgically removed from his @ss.  I hope that Bugs is ok.

I had an interesting night.  I had a few drinks last night.  Ok, I had two bottles of wine, but who's counting?  Anyway, I went upstairs & went to bed.  A few hours later, I was awakened by the sound of Bevo getting ready to puke.  Even in my inebriated state, I remembered that he had tripe for dinner, & that I really needed to get him outside before he yacked.  I got him down off the bed, & decided that it would be best to go outside from the deck off of our bedroom, as opposed to trying to go downstairs & out through the patio door.

I get Bev out on the deck with no issues, but then we had to navigate the stairs down to the ground.  We rarely use the stairs because Bev likes to dive to the ground with 7 or 8 stairs still to go.  Not good for a dog with neck issues, so I walk him down the stairs.  Last night, he didn't have a harness on, so I leaned over, & put my arm around him on the front of his chest, to make sure that he made it down safely.  Wewere doing fine but with about 5 steps left, Bev decided to try to make a dive for it.  I ended up face planting onto the bottom stair.

After Bevo finished sniffing & patrolling the yard, DH & I made a trip to the minor emergency clinic to have the cut on my chin sutured.  They opted not to worry about suturing my lower lip where my bottom teeth went through it.

I was, admittedly, annoyed with Bev, but when we got home he met me with sweet ears & cute nubbin wags, & I couldn't be mad at him any more.

Ouch Amanda! Glad you are okay.

Glenda, can you come cook for me for a few days? My neck's spasmed up again and cooking hasn't even been on the horizon.

To make everyone smile, go check out the updated puppy pics. :) I'm spending way too much time staring at them and not enough getting other stuff done. LOL

ETA: Just read rest of thread, hope B's okay. Yeah, I'd be majorly p-od too.

Honestly, how do all of these crazy things happen to you!?  I can always expect a good Amanda story from MC, but man, did that face plant have to HURT!  How are you feeling today?

Julie - SOOOO cool about the wonderful pictures and news article about your dogs!  You'll have to post the bang picture of Neiko when you get it.

Maggiesmom - What a jerk, I sincerely hope he's gone back to his own tower!

Long and tiresome day at work today for me.  But I've got a great DH, after hearing my tale of woe, he brings home Portillos!!!  All better now.

    • Gold Top Dog

Sure Amy....just send a plane ticket.  ROUND trip please!

Amanda, I'm not EVEN gonna ask, however, if you look at the list of insanity today you'll see that there wasn't much time for FUN cooking.

Girl, what are we gonna do with you?  You always manage to have the wierdest stuff happen to you.  Plastic bubble maybe?  With room for your DH......

Had a nice day off. I have a 3-day weekend. We get goverment holidays so Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a day off for me.

And I decided to step daintily into the waters of the dark side of the force and gave Shadow an RMB. Main leg bone from a doe. My friend, John, hunts every season and harvest 3 this season, so far. He gave me the leg bones specfically for Shadow. They've been in the freezer for about a month. I forgot they were there. I was digging out a pork shoulder roast we're going to crock pot for Monday and found those. So, I took one and nuked it to take the chill off and gave it to Shadow outside. He was intent and focused for an hour or so. And cracked that bone in half. A clean break, by the way. I took the smaller remnant and disposed of it. He worked on the other one for a while longer and then I disposed of that, too. I'm not so worried if it does wonders for his teeth, or not, or if it's ideologically perfect or not. It's an enrichment and enjoyment for his life. But I do control his access to bones as he is super-guardy of them. And I know he's had raw before because I have seen him catch and eat cotton rats (what most people think is a "field mouse.";) He's killed a few squirrels, though he has never learned how to eat them, as of yet. And he once chewed on a baby dove as if it were a chew toy. Those couldn't be cleaner than a properly dressed and cleaned deer bone.

So, when do I get my Borg patch?

ETA: just had another thought ... wait ... yep ... it was a thought. If John has excellent years again, of which there is no doubt (in Oklahoma, you can't turn around without seeing a deer and the Ok. wildlife management is begging people to harvest old does) and I could collect the bones, we should set up a meeting place where I could share the largess of John's skill with his .50 caliber black powder muzzleloader. I mention the gun to let you know that it is a humane kill. Many hunters hunt with a .243 or .270. Sometimes, those bullets, being light can ricochet. Not so with a .308 or .50. John shoots a .50 caliber ball and it breaks through any bone and pierces the heart, bringing almost instant death. I would prefer a .308 if I were hunting because the .308 is accurate with basic sights in a scope at over 600 yards. And more importantly, the velocity is maintained, even at 600 yards. So the bullet has enough energy to drive right on through.

Sorry to get technical. Anyway, next time I think of that, I will think of that. When I get a load of deer bones, I will make it known.

Amanda...they didn't suture the lip because the mouth is chock full of bacteria.  Be sure to use a heavy duty mouth wash or diluted peroxide to keep that lip from getting infected.

So Ron, I guess we could give you a patch.  I'd love to see you offer that boy a bowl of raw chicken necks first, but, this is a HUGE first step.

I will let you guys know when I do that. And if I had half a brain, I would have taken a pic of shadow gnawing and nibbling on that deer bone. Oh well, next time.
