Ok, it's New Years and I AM resolving to get back into shape and lose about 55-60 lbs. I'm thinking of getting a treadmill. I'd be highly likely to use it and watch a movie or something at the same time
When I went to the gym, the treadmill was my cardio workout of choice. I currently have a variety of free weights at home and will be picking up a simple bench that folds up to use with the free weights.
My issues with getting a treadmill are two fold. 1. Space. I live in a condo with NO storage space period. Something that can fold up when not in use to be relatively out of the way is key. Otherwise it'll take up the whole of the living room (where it's going to go, as there is no other place to use it). 2. Cost. I'm tight on money, so something relatively low cost, but a good reliable machine is necessary. I'm willing to dig deep into my pockets a bit if need be for something that will last.
It doesn't need to be fancy, but I do want it to be motorized. It doesn't need to have all the bells and whistles. At most, I'll do a light jog on it. In truth, I may even consider training Ari to go on it! For instance, last night the windchills were in the negative double digits. Too cold for anything but a potty run. It would be cool if I could train her to safely use it to help get out some energy (I think she'd like it).
Anyone own a treadmill and/or could steer me in the right direction for a good brand/model? I started looking online and was very overwhelmed to say the least! There are a lot of people selling their treadmills on Craigslist right now within my price range (looking to spend no more than $150) so that's an option.
