Decided to take a breed selector thingy, and...

    here is my result.

A Black Russian Terrier. A robust, large, and poweful dog, the Black Russian Terrier was a breed developed in Russia and used as guard dogs for protection. They have a high level of intelligence.

The other breeds that came close for me were Belgian Malinios, Irish Wolfhound, Belgian Shepherd Dog, and the Belgian Tervuren.

Who else wants to take it and post there result? Link: http://www.eukanuba.com/EukGlobal/GLOBAL/en/jsp/breed/breedSelector/DogBreedSelector.jsp?gclid=CI3umKPyyp4CFRhfagod4nRUqw

My ideal breed is a Thai Ridgeback

My other breeds were Doberman Pinscher, Dutch Shepherd, Belgian Malinios, & a Japanese Mastiff.

What is a Japanese Mastiff???  (Tosa Inu???)

Other than not really knowing about the Japanese Mastiff, I would agree that I'd be happy with any of these breeds.

Easy for you to say Amanda, you got a Dobe on your list.  They want me to get a Spanish Hound...or some Bohemien something or other, that I've never heard of.  The Toller I could probably live with, but I'm not gettin no hound.

Guess I have to give my herders up - I'm best matched with a Polish Mt. Dog!!  Runners up include: Brazillian Terrier, Bohemian Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, Lab, and Rottie.  I think the only one I might even agree with a bit is the Rott and I've never heard of the dogs that come highest on the list - seems like they are really trying to be different than the other breed selectors.

     Hanoverian Hound??  Ummm, interesting...

Others are: Griffon Nivernais, Posavatz Hound, Ainu Dog, and Hellenic Hound.  Ainu Dog I can kinda see, but where in my answers did I put that I <3 hounds? (No offense to hound lovers!  Great dogs, just not for me). Smile

Finnish Reindeer Dog (is that the Lapphund, beause if so, wow, I could totally see myself with one of those guys) and Griffon Niveis-thingy.)

I got a Belgian Shepherd Dog, Belgian Tervuren, Belgian Malinois, Arabian Greyhound and Kromfohrlander - thanks but no thanks.  Probably not a chance I will ever own one of those.........I would like a Whippet one day?  LOL  At least I got dogs that I think are beautiful dogs, they just aren't for me!

Well they are all dogs, I wonder why those three breeds were selected.  Temperment/biddibility wise they are as different as fruits and vegatables.

I got the Spanish Hound....never even heard of 'em. Nope, no thanks.

The number one pick for me was a Shiba Inu, which I could definitely see.  Next picks: American Cocker, Bohemian Wire-haired Pointing Griffon, Newfoundland, and Silky Terrier.

    • Gold Top Dog

     1. American Cocker Spaniel

    2.  Shiba Inu

    3. Chesapeke Bay Retreiver

    4.English Cocker Spaniel

    5. Rottweiler

Umm... close but no. I like my Cavalier. He doesn't need a haircut, and he's not a foodie. The only one I think I would ever consider there is a rottweiler. At least I have heard of those breeds though.
