    Tuesday, mindless Tuesday

I don't understand men.  My neighbor got a new lawn tractor on Sunday.  I'm sure he needs it for his city lot, but whatever.  So he's parked it outside and left it there since he brought it home.  It has rained several times, yet there it sits, outside of the garage, which has room for it.  Does he need everyone to see it that badly?

Last week he raked/blew the last of the leaves from all his trees to the curb for city pick up.  Except the 2-foot section from the fence line to the street which is actually my property, he blew those leaves into my driveway.  There aren't a lot, but my yard was already done.  And the leaves are from his 3 huge trees, not mine (I only have a couple of small ones in my yard at this point).  City leaf pick up is done for the year.  Lucky for him, I use some of the old wet leaves for mulch (but I really already had enough).

As I type this, Shimmer is madly frapping all over the house, jumping from couch to loveseat, then divebombing into her bed and sliding it across the floor....only to take off up the hall and repeat the sequence. Gaci is walking around with her prized chew bone, not chewing it but not letting anyone have it, and Zipper is licking himself in the other dog bed. That's the happenings in Schnauzer residence at this time. We just got back from a rather wet walk, but the dogs loved it, and it was one of those exceptional walks where Gaci didn't try to hunt anything, they didn't react at all to the mad-barking Lab. Shimmer got startled by some of the Xmas decorations one of the neighbours put out, but we stopped and I let her see they didn't attack her, and she was fine thereafter.

It's December first, and it's snowing. I actually rather like that. And, and, and.....now I can decorate the house!! Yippeeeeee!! I've been waiting so long to decorate so that is the evening plan!

I ordered three beautiful leather leashes for the pups for Christmas....I wanted a set of really thin, durable 4' walking leashes as the ones I have now are stylish, but really awkward to walk with. So they should be on route any day now.

Don'tcha just love neighbors?  Ok, so I have a pretty good one on one side of me.  The other side is tempermental at best, and across there is an assortment ranging from little old lady with cats to Cheech Marin lookalike to criminal, but all basically hillbillies lost in the city.

Kali has started waking up in the middle of the night and turning on the light, which wakes Kelci up, and thinking its time to play.  Then she loads all of the toys into Kelci's playpen I assume because Kelci can't get out to play on the floor, then when she's done, she climbs out of the playpen and goes back to bed.  This leaves Kelci in a crib full of toys which she of course can't sleep in.  And they are surprisingly quiet during all of this, so often the first I hear of it, is when Kelci gets bored of her own company and starts to cry or call for me because she can't get comfortable.  Ideas anyone?  I put a night light in their room last night to see if that would help.  It may or may not have.  The last time they got up was at midnight.  I seriously considered flipping the breaker to their room but its also the breaker to my room and the bathroom so I didn't.

well my early client's car broke down so that was canceled. dh had asked me to pick up an order at Sear's but thry don't open until 10 so i am sitting in the mall being scowled at by elderly mall walkers. What is that all about? Dec. 1st started with an iced over car Is it 10 yet?

You'd think that the elderly mall walkers would be happy, not scowling, with all of the endorphins they are producing by walking!

I woke up early today. Imagine that.

I think I'm going to call for pooper scooper service today. I am behind on pick up duty. I hate it when I get behind and it just makes me want to procrastinate more.  It's a vicious cycle that turns in to a tidal wave of dog poop! So, I might as well pay to have it done to get myself back on track.

Sunshine is getting on my nerves lately. I had a temp foster home set up for her this weekend because I thought I was going to be gone. However, the event got canceled but I'm thinking I may send her away anyway just to give myself a break.

My sore throat is a little worse today. Not sure why. It's been almost a week. You'd think it would be getting better. It's still not that bad though. I've definitely had worse. Weird!

I'm actually having a good day...my car is fixed...and cheaply...my car wouldn't start on Saturday and left me stranded at Target...so it turns out the only problem was that the kind, competent individual who replaced my battery broke a bolt and didn't mention it to me...so, my mechanic (who knows me well from my piece o crap car) is charging me $40 for new bolt and digging the old out.  Other than that, i've decided to attempt a croquembouche....anyone know if they're difficult?

I worked this morning, and it was a tough morning. Haven't really had a rough morning in a few weeks like that, but long vacation is always difficult. I took my car to ripoff lube this morning, where I got ripped off for an oil change. I desperately need to start working on my next project, but I totally do not feel like it. I think I might just do it tonight when I get home, because when I get more pressed for time, I start doing stuff. I need to get my laundry out of the dryer, and put the stuff in the wash into the dryer. I don't feel like doing that either. There isn't much I do feel like doing today actually.

Me neither! I went to email myself things to print off at the school's computer lab, and got distracted by an email from a runner's club I joined. It had a link to a yoga for runners video, so I watched that. Now I'm in the mood to go running so my shorts are next to me on the bed. Really, I need to be doing this mountain of homework I have, but I just don't want to. I did manage to get the dog food into the crock pot, but I prepped too much so now half of it is in the fridge.

Also, I have left 1/2 a chocolate dream pie, 4 home made rice crispie treats, and an entire box of little debbie 'christmas tree cakes' in my kitchen, thanks to my mother. Thanks, Mom.

lol at the tractor out in the rain... maybe he's OCD about his garage, and the brand new tractor would get it "dirty"? poor tractor.

I had a great Thanksgiving and a good college friend came to visit for several days, so that was a lot of fun, but I am waaaay behind in work. 1 grad school app due yesterday and 3 today. I submitted yesterday's, and am a little less than 2/3 done with today's. Ugh. Laundry is overflowing such that it's hard to walk in the bedroom, there's a stack of dishes as high as our cabinets, and the master bathroom is so dirty I think it might become sentient and start cleaning itself! (at least, that's the hope!)

Kim, how's your rib stuff feeling?

Candace, no idea about the kiddos... can you keep Kali's toys locked up, maybe, so they're not so easily accessible in the middle of the night? That's the only thing I can think of.

Let me just say that two insane dobes in one house is going to be interesting.

This morning, Cher was out playing while everyone else was having breakfast.  She did a crazy zoomie that culminated in her collapsing into a heap after ran into the couch.  Moments later, she tried to navigate the stairs.  She made it up the first three stairs with no problems, but, apparently, that fourth step is a killer, because she came tumbling back down.  She hopped right back up & got busy again, this time dragging her bed out of her crate, & then grabbing a stuffie to shake violently.  Once she was tired, she came over & curled up on my feet.

I don't want to be at work today.  I need to clean the house before we start decorating for Christmas.

Would someone please explain to me why West TEXAS getting snow means that I have to freeze my hiney off?  Suffer "wind driven rain" and in excess of 6 inches of said rain in a very short period of time, causing the possibility of flash floods?  Hello????  I live in FLORIDA!  Not MI.  Crimoney!  I don't wanna be cold OR wet!

I also don't want to clean carpets, but I've got the beastly machine rented, so suppose I'll have to do it.  Who puts CREAM colored carpets in a rental house??  And especially in a livingroom that's right off the back door that is too low to allow for a rug to wipe feet on??  Can't plane off the door since it's already been planed to the max and would fall apart if we took more off.  Crud.

If I get right to the livingroom, and put all the fans on, then I can drag the sisal rug back in there once the LR carpet is dry and clean the heck out of that in the LR.  That thing is soaked since someone took it outside to hose off and didn't bother to bring it back in before the torrential rains started.  Huh?  I used the beastly machine to suck as much water out of it as I could with 20 mph winds and driving rain out there.  The rest just has to be done inside.  Sigh.

Is Cher the new dog that Karen was talking about? I must've missed the thread about that but congratulations!

Sassy woke up with that sore neck/back thing going on again. It's the saddest thing to see. She hangs her head and doesn't want to lay down or even move. It's been months since it happened last, so I don't know what to think about it. The vet said that we could run a bunch of x-rays but even if it showed arthritis (most likely) there isn't much we could do other than treat the pain as needed. I gave her a rimadyl before I left and hopefully she'll be feeling better when I get home.

I don't want to be at work today either, but that seems to be my mantra these days.
