Somebody Smack Me

BTW, did I miss something (easily could have)....I hope none of your dogs passed......??

Nope, my guys are all alive, & for the most part well.

I did have a foster for a while, but she was adopted a few weeks ago.  I'm not sure that I announced it, as it was taking place at the same time that Brutus was hopsitalized.

I'm very late seeing this, but I wanted to add my best wishes for Cher to have a speedy recovery, which she WILL, now that she's in the hands of such a caring and dedicated person.  To echo what others have said, you're a true angel for taking this sweet little pup under your wing.  Those photos just break my heart, and if I could, I would give her a gentle kiss on her nose.  I'll look forward to seeing photos of her progress!

    She has a name!

Since one of our "family" members crossed the bridge yesterday, & I gained a new family member, I thought that it would be nice to name after Cherokee.  With Chelsea's permission, her name is now Cherokee, or Cher for short.  She's definitely got the rock star attitude of Cher, so it's pretty fitting.

I've been following this thread at work, and been unable to post.... Just wanted to echo what everyone else said, THANK YOU for taking her in.  I think her name is the perfect choice (although Inca was also quite pretty Smile) and it was a very sweet tribute to a well-liked forum member.  I really hope it brings Chelsea a little comfort.

I just keep telling myself "I can't fall in love with this dog." Somebody else may have to remind me of that......frequently. Tongue Tied

Puhleeze, that baby girl is the perfect book end to Bevo.  You've got two of everything else, you just need another Dobe to have a complete matched set!

Cher, welcome to the puppy Ritz!

Lola found a home???  YIPPIE!!  Also OT but I hope that Brutus is continuing to improve & is well on his way to full health.

Thanks Amy!  You are soooo not helping!

Annie, Brutus is doing well.  His blood levels are slowly, but steadily increasing, & he is gaining energy & strength as well.

OMG!  Poor little Cher.  That's such a nice thing you're doing for her.  She gets a second lease on life and a caring family.  I'm sure with your love and dedication she'll be better in no time.

I just love the idea of naming her after Cherokee.  That's such a wonderful jesture to her thought.

Glad to hear Brutus' numbers are rising.  How's he been coping with the new addition?

Geeze, I don't check in for ONE day and I miss everything!

Cher couldn't be in better hands. BTW, her ears are too cute!

Late too and echoing others but you do not need a smack, Amanda, just a high five and a huge thank you for taking Cher in. Her good star must have been shining that day since going home with you is giving her a wonderful second chance not only at life but at a healthy and happy life.

I am glad too to see that Brutus' bloodwork shows continued improvement.

Good wishes for both of them.

I love her name though! Wink/Crying

    No words...

Thanks for all the kind words, although I'm not sure that I did anything more than what any of you would have done in the same situation.

I do have an update....She has a home!!!  A very, very good friend of mine is going to take her!  My friend has a Doberboy already, so she has a very good idea of what she's in for.  Since my friend has travel obligations for work, Cher will be staying with me for a few more weeks.

I'm so excited for her, even though I really did like the prospect of having a dobergirl of my own.

I'm soooo happy for Cher.  She really has hit the puppy lottery!  Amanda, please let your friend know that once she has Cher that her cyber Aunties would really like to see pictures of her.  I think I'm not alone in this.  We've kinda fallen for her & we'd love to see her progress.  Just sayin.....
