Somebody Smack Me

    Somebody Smack Me

I picked this girl up from animal control this morning.  She's covered in demodex, & staph, but she's sweet & it's treatable so I just couldn't let her be euthanized.  For now, she's nameless.

Somebody should smack me for taking in another dog.  Karen, are you sure that you don't want a doberpup???

    • Gold Top Dog

I was going to say *smack* since you asked, but after seeing that picture, all I can say is "oh my God that poor puppy, and bless you for taking her". I hope that she comes out of it okay. Poor baby.

Instead, I'm going to send you a *hug* instead of that smack! LOL

ETA: I think you should call her Hope. She has that now that you have her.

You put up a pretty tough front Amanda, but you can't fool us ------ you really have a heart of gold.

Huge Heart of Gold...to be sure.

'Hope" sounds like a wonderful name.  I pray she comes out of this ok, and you can find her a good home.

    So sweet!

OMG, that poor little girl!  She sure is lucky that you found her.  I can't wait to see pics as she progresses with her treatments.  I bet she'll turn out to be a stunner.

Yeah, and no smacks from here, either.  THANK YOU for helping her!

    • Gold Top Dog

Nope I can't do it, Amanda.  Poor Dobergirl.  Crying I want to hug you for helping her out.  She's one lucky little girl.

Oh, I want to cry... that poor baby.  I know she will be just fine in your care and what a blessing that is for her.  THANK YOU for rescuing yet another Dobergirl....  How many weeks do you think she is?

    • Gold Top Dog

Yep, your tough but not when it comes to a dog who needs you.  She's a lucky girl that you could take her.

    • Gold Top Dog

Nope I sure cant smack you either....  {{{{hugs}}}} from all of us.   I like Hope too!  She is a very lucky girl!

No smacks for you, Amanda, but many smacks and Brutus attacks to the person who is responsible for this poor dog's condition! Angry

As for a name, Nadine/Nadia means hope.

How many weeks do you think she is?

We are guessing that she's around 13 weeks.  She's 25 pounds, and, at the moment, pretty thin.

I have a niece named Hope, so that name's out.  Other suggestions are welcome!

    • Gold Top Dog

Thank you for taking her in, Amanda!!  You have such a big heart!!!

    What about naming her Faith?

    • Gold Top Dog

No name suggestions, just a big THANK YOU for taking her in.

Amanda -- want my article?  Go look at the pictures of Tink from July, 2008 -- and then just in AUGUST, 2008.  You can do this.

I'm not sure I saved any of your emails -- and I gotta attach the document.  So if you email me (or just callie at critturs dot com -- no spaces use the punctuation) I can help.

It's my bet she's already been on ivermectin -- and in a young pup I'm finding that can really trash the immune system.   So you can just plain add milk thistle from the start.  Also -- the mistake I learned with Tink -- get blood drawn from DAY #1 -- then you'll *know* a baseline for the liver stuff.  (That was what held resolution up with Tink)

    Dang -- I wanna help!!

I can tell you some homeopathics that can help and Tink has gotten the auto-sanguis treatments and I know it helped a ton.

Traumeel tablets ... that helps a ton with the inflammation and the heat you feel on the body.

Tink says "YOU ROCK Ms. "Manda!!!"
