Somebody Smack Me

    • Gold Top Dog

Sending BIG hugs to you for taking her in!  What a poor pup.  I hope she recovers well and quickly.  How sad.

She reminds me of my Orca, who was in miserable condition when I picked her up so many years ago.  Thank you for saving her.

I was prepared to smack you too...then I opened the thread.  It was a really great thing you did to take her in, even in her condition, she is beautiful :)

    • Gold Top Dog

You're awesome!  I can't wait to see her bloom under your care.  She's a lucky pup.

great job Amanda - it will be a long road ahead but you can do it (or find a home for her that can and will do it!)

Oh my gosh, that poor baby. who lets a 13 week old puppy get like that. that makes me sick

It can happen in well-meaning situations where people don't recognize demodex and it gets out of control.  Staph can come in right on its heels.  I've, sadly, seen worse from a very well-meaning home, but the pup was sooo stressed out by its environment that the mites just got out of control and his body couldn't take it.  He had far less hair than this little girl.

For some reason, the name "Inca" for a black female Dobe has been rolling around in my head the last few weeks.... probably because I've been surrounded by Native American names.

I suspect she will reveal her name to you soon. ;)  Auntie Paige sends gentle squeezie hugs to the little babycakes.

Nope, no smacks from me. THANK YOU for saving her!

I like the names Faith or Justice.

What a sweetheart, and it just pulls on my heart because I so badly want a Dobie for my next puppy. *sigh*

Thank you for taking in this sweet little girl, I'm looking forward to watching her progress.

Smack you? No way. THANK YOU, for saving this little baby. Dobes hold a special part of my heart.

Amanda, I wouldn't smack you even if you had gone out and bought a purebred dobergirl from a great breeder on a whim...but this girl?  OMGosh.  I'm speechless.  I'm with everyone else.  I'd hug you if I could.

Lookin forward to watching her grow.

Well I for one am willing to smack you! How could you do such a nice, sweet, tear jerker of a thing and expect us to smack you? I mean honestly Amanda, you deserve a smack for that.

Now, I think in the best interest of all the other dogs you should mail them out to random people and let us love on them and rotate them around the forum. Problem solved.

     Dibs on Bevo!

Thanks for the kind words.  Maybe, only my DH wants to smack me for taking her in.  (Actually, he's ok with it now, but at the time, he wasn't thrilled with me.)

Callie, I'm not an Ivomec fan, so we aren't treating with it.  I'll email you what I'm going to use to treat her.  If you have other additional suggestions, I'll be happy to hear them.

Paige, I'm not sure if she's black or blue.  Inca is a cute name.

I have her home now.  She's sweet, & absolutely fearless.  She strolled into the house as if she had lived there for years.  Until she's in a little better shape, she's going to have to stay crated, (she starts bleeding if she's bumped) but she's content in the crate, which makes things much easier. ;)

Here are some better pics from this evening.

    "On Guard"

    Crazy ears!

    • Gold Top Dog

Sad Oh, Amanda, she's breaking my heart.  Her ears are pretty fun though.  Please give her some lovins from me.

I'm not sorry you're not getting your desired smacks, kinda. :)
