Mindless Tuesday

We use both UPS and Fed Ex and they seem really comparable but I actually have a little better luck with Fed Ex. I love the drivers from both companies though. They work way harder than I'd ever want to.

I just got back from the vet after taking both girls.  They are healthy, and Kya lost 1/2 lb!  She needed to, :-D.  I'm happy.

I'm going to go to the gym now.  Trying to work up my enthusiasm.

Oh, yes, the FedEx truck did arrive today.  Just in time, too, as our VP of Sales was jonesing for more coffee, lol.  I set up the machine, ran some plain water through it per the instructions, then we all enjoyed our first cups of coffee from the new Keurig (I actually had hot chocolate instead of coffee).  That thing rocks!

We use both UPS and FedEx, too.

I lean towards UPS for a few reasons.  They're Atlanta-based, so I'm supporting the local economy.  Even bigger is that they are a client of ours (we clean the windows at their corporate HQ), so they're supporting MY economy, lol.  And the driver who does our route is from Chapel Hill originally and a big Tar Heels fan, so we always chat about UNC sports.  So they really hit a trifecta with me, lol.

But our regular FedEx driver is really cool, too.  I've found them both to be pretty equally reliable, but I will admit we've had fewer mishaps with UPS.

Our UPS guy is HOT.  When he comes into our office lobby, I make it a point to come out of my office & say hi.

Today hasn't turned out to be the day that I had expected.  This morning, I had came to terms with the fact that we would be putting Bru to sleep today.  The news that there weren't cancer cells was enough good news to last me for quite a wihile.  This afternoon, I took Bev up to donate blood.  He's a match for Bru, & the clinic where Bru is being treated has 5 other dogs being treated for AIHA, so they are short on blood.  Now, if Brutus needs blood again before their shipment arrives, he will have it.

Anyway, Bev is supposed to have an appointment tomorrow to recheck his leg, but since he was there, they checked him today instead.  The atrophy that was present seems to be resolved, & his leg feels totally normal again.  This means that he can be released for activity again!!!  I am beyond excited.  This means no more of me mumbling obscenities & death threats at him when he's acting like a moron.  Not that they do any good, but still.....

This evening, I took Bev, Angel, & Shooter, who was "accidentally" left here by DH, for a run on the golf course.  They ran like idiots & now they are all sprawled out sleeping.  It's been almost four weeks since Bev has been legitimately tired, & let me tell you, it's nice.

Schatzi is staying the night with Brutus tonight.  One of Bru's doctors asked about letting her stay with him.  Apparently, he's quite whiny when he's left alone, so they are hoping that he'll be more relaxed with her there.

It's been a good day all the way around.  I'm so glad that Bev can help his bro with blood.  This is really driving home to me how important Grady's donating is.  I hope that Bru & Shatzi are having a good slumber party.  Mostly I hope they're not staying up to all hours telling ghost stories & doing eachother's hair. ~L~

Wouldn't you know that fedex came not 5 minutes after I posted?!  So I now have all my stuff and loads of stuff for my swap person. :D  Unfortunately it looks like I may to send one item back as it's not small enough for Z. :(

Awesome for Bev!  And def awesome for Amanda on a lot of counts.

Schatzi is staying the night with Brutus tonight.

That is so awesome.  That must make you feel so much better, knowing that he's with her and not there alone.  If he's got to be there, that's such a great way to do it.

I'm so happy for you Amanda.  I wasn't sure I wanted to read the update today.

Send Shooter to Florida! I had some doxies petsitting last week...I'm trying to convince BF that we need one. It's not working, but if a certain 'little weiner' showed up at my house, I'd have no choice!!

On a down note, Pirate had his first seizure of the 'seizen' (LOL, I couldn't resist). Dec/Jan are usually the worst for him, buy I guess he's starting early this time. The only thing I can pinpoint is that I got some Sojo's samples the other day when I bought a new box of Wellness treats - both had flax seed, so I guess flax is on the dirty list.

I stayed home to watch him, and sent BF to the grocery store alone. Lord help us.

    Poor Pirate!

Meg, you can have Shooter for a while.  He's in little ba$tard mode tonight.  I'll never understand why our smallest dog is the most difficult one.  So far, he has launched a buster cube down the stairs, swiped part of Bev's dinner because I was talking on the phone instead of paying attention, & went for a swim in one of the water hazards.  I have serious doubts about DH leaving him here by "accident."

I'm pretty sure that I like you BF.  He reminds me of myself.  My DH does most of the grocery shopping because, he says that sending me shopping is an "adventure."  Sadly, he has a point.  My poor brain turns to mush in the grocery store.  All that I can think is "mmmm oreos, mmmm double stuffed oreos, mmmm fudge covered double stuffed oreos."

ETA:  We aren't working tomorrow.  I hate the Houston office, & I don't work on Wednesdays anyway.  I think that my secretary & I are going to the zoo.  I LOVE screwing with the howler monkeys.  I wonder if I can get us kicked out....

I was trying to type ''ba$tard'' instead of weiner, without getting red-inked, LOL. He sure is bad tonight.

My BF has been diagnosed with ADD since we've been dating - maybe 2005? He has a good excuse for being the way he is :) Thankfully I had dictated a list to him while I was feeding the dogs before we were going to leave, and I told him as long as he got the stuff on my list, I didn't care what he brought back, so long as he didn't spend a small fortune. He brought back most of my list, but got the whitest white bread he could get ('butter top', really. It's called 'butter top';)...I usually buy white-wheat so I can feel slightly better about it. He also brought home ham steaks...I have no idea how to cook ham steaks. I guess I need to google it. NO fruit...I didn't put fruit on 'the list' because I usually get what's on sale/whatever looks good so that's not his fault.

Speaking of Oreos, my little brother went to the grocery store on HIS way home from work. He lives with us and usually eats whatever I buy, but I guess he felt the need to contribute. He got Oreos, Golden Grahms, and TWO bags of Doritos. They were BOGO, he told me, proudly. He also got vanilla soy milk.

I live with a couple grocery shopping adventurers, that's for sure.

Amanda, I am trying to make a dirty zoo joke, but I am beat. Too bad Deb isn't around, she could do it.

I'm so glad I came back to read this thread before bed.  I'm a little miffed that no one "quoted" my first page post so I could see Jacob on each page, but meh...whatever.

I've been laughing my butt off though.  I can picture Bru and Shatz doing each other's hair...and picture Amanda walking through a grocery store like a zombie looking for oreos.  Then harassing the howler monkeys.  The idea of little brother's finding "good deals" makes me giggle too.  And I think I might have to have a beer, just to say I helped with Deb's theory...

    Thanks everyone!

    I like your brother already!!!

No need for dirty zoo jokes.  I'm sure that I can get into enough trouble without any help!

This morning, I had came to terms with the fact that we would be putting Bru to sleep today.

I guess I read this wrong and thought that you'd had to put Brutus to sleep today. It's been a long, crummy day and was just enough to make me want to cry but thankfully I read on. I hope that Brutus has a lot more time with all of us.

DH fell on his bike today. He wasn't worried at all about all the scrapes he had but was just relieved that he hadn't done major damage to his bike. He's been riding really hard lately. You'd think he was trying out for the tour de france or something. He went to get up a few min's ago and got a major cramp in his quadricep. I handed him the ice pack and had to take Sassy out to pee. It makes my heart hurt to see someone in that much pain. Sad

I'm a fan of the 'uh oh' oreos... the golden ones with the chocolate centers. mmmmh.

I went to cracker barrel for dinner tonight. I don't have a CLUE why I don't go there more often... I'm stuffed - and it was soooo good!
