Mindless Tuesday

    Mindless Tuesday

Cats still looking to shorten their lives.  I will never have felines again.  Never ever never...

Steph looks like she had a great b'day!

Continued good thought for all ailing dogs and their humans.

My foster mom left me a message yesterday that she had to put her dad in hospice care.  I was sorry to hear this, don't have all the details, but he is something like 95, so not a huge surprise.  But some thoughts for her strength would be appreciated.

Meg, I think you need a personal bodyguard.  I hope everyone is better today.

Well, my three as well!  Trying to work in the office is not so easy with three cats all vying for my attention.  Even if I stop for a bit and give them all one on one, someone still feels the need to sit in my lap while I'm trying to work.

It's raw here today.  Cloudy, rainey and just flat colder feeling than it really is.  Blech.

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to avoid the laundramat today.  The load of rags didn't dry all the way yesterday and today nothing will dry.  Not my favorite place to go by any means.  And, I've got way too much to do without tossing in the laundramat.  Oh well....gotta do what we've gotta do I guess.

Good thoughts going out to your Foster mom, and also to all the critters in need of them.

Good thoughts for your stepmom Tina. And continued good vibes for Bru and Maghee...

Uh...missed what happened to Meg...I don't think you should be allowed to toss something like that in without a quick recap...

Kali is excited for school this morning.  We'll see how dropping her off goes.  Sigh.

Starting to get colder now.  I got approved for a loan to replace my furnace yesterday though, so I'm pretty happy about that.  I just have to go down and bring in paystubs...which should be interesting.  My dad has to figure something out for that, cause I don't really get pay stubs, or a check for that matter...

    from Meg, yesterday's Monday chat:

    Idiot loose dog encounter #999:

I went for a run as it was getting dusky - stupid idea but I thought I had more daylight left than I actually did. As I rounded one corner house, I heard RAWF RAWF RAWF and two GIANT boxer-pit type dogs charged through their bushes and came at me. I turned to face them and said NO and HEY and GET BACK - they kept coming so I grabbed my mace and set it off as I was trying to back myself slowly behind a parked car. After an eternity they turned and walked away - FINALLY *** for brains owner came out as I had started to jog away. I told him that I had discharged my mace and he might want to check his dogs. The worst part was that I heard a dog screaming bloody murder as I started to move again :( I took the shortcut home and got my car and went back to get the house number so I could call and report it. I'm mad the dogs charged me, but that's their idiot owner's fault and it sounded like he was really hurting them. I'm just really sad, I hope the cops can do something.

Somehow I got a misting of mace on my hands and shins - now I know that it burns A LOT. Sheesh.

There are way too many freaky things going on here with people and dogs.  I suggest we all start drinking heavily until we all get our good karma going again.

OOOooooh!  I did catch that!  Duh...yes Megan, Crusher is on his way down to be your bodyguard...

I think I might come home early today and join Deb in the "bring back our mojo" swill.  Couldn't hurt right?

Is anyone else excited for Friday? We're going to the 330 show, since the later ones were sold out already last week when I ordered our tix.  Dumb ol Michelle is goin to the midnight showing on Thursday.  I don't think I'm gonna be her friend anymore...though she did send me this...

so I may eventually be able to forgive her...maybe...someday...Stick out tongue

Oh so sleepy......I really need to focus and concentrate today. i have to finish reading and commenting on special provisions for portable changeable message boards. It's as dry as it sounds. I'm going to need a coffee iv or something. Seriously, I can't remember when my body has been so tired!

I hear you about the cats. They are cute and snuggly (most of the time) but I will never own one again. Never ever ever.

The humane society near by had a surplus of towels, blankets and bowl so I brought some home last night. You can never have enough doggy towels and blankets imo. Especially with foster dogs around. While I was there, I worked with Abbie in the back corner of the room while a dog training class was going on. I put her in a crate and just fed her treats while she watched everything. her ears and eyes were nice soft and relaxed and I was able to increase the duration between treats. I was really happy with her behavior. However, when we walked out the door there was a dog standing there and she reacted. Bleh. I guess you win some and lose some.

One of the dogs peed on the carpet in the living room this morning. I am thinking it was sunshine because I vaguely remember her trying to wake me up about 6am. I was so out of it though that I just rolled over and ignored her. My bad. Poor dog! Her and Lily are doing really good trying to wake me up when they need to go outside. Hopefully I didn't just create a set back.

I was thinking about going to the Midnight showing Candace, but the group I was going with changed their mind to Friday due to schedules.  Which worked out good for me b/c Midnight showing Thursday night and then back to work at 7 on Friday....not a good combo.  Then my BOL (brother-out-law) and I have had plans for a long time to go see it Sat.  I think after getting that pic, I'd be willing to forgive Michelle.

Wondering how Amanda and Bru are doing.

And I agree w/ all those who are talking about cats.  The STBX kept both cats, and while I miss Tato, I would definitely never want another cat.

    Cheers!!  Beer

Good vibes for your Foster mom, Tina.

Between Crusher & Grady we can keep Meg safe.

Geez, I know I'm missing responding to someone.  I guess that's what 'edit' is for. :)

    EDITED to add:

I hope that Bru's biopsy is cancer free.  Hoping, hoping, hoping....

Yay, Candance! Here's to warmth for the winter!!!!

I'm almost afraid to check in here today.  Good idea, Deb!  Beer

I was a tad rude to the front office gal at my new vet clinic yesterday.  Then I found out I was wrong and she was right.  I called her this morning and apologized.  Maybe I'll take some goodies as a peace offering when I go pick up my Interceptor today.  Luckily, I wasn't super rude but I was sharp, if you know what I mean. She's a sweet gal and recently lost her darling Boston to cancer, which makes me feel worse.

I hate to tell everyone what a beautiful day it is here but I will anyway.  :)

Add me to the list of people who won't be getting another cat.  I love my kitty, he is not a problem in any way but I don't ever want to deal with a litter box once this kitty is gone.  I have one of those automated litter boxes which has made things better but no matter what, it's still requires attention.  Lucky me that DH has taken over this chore since we got the new box.  Gadget man fell for my evil plan. lol

LOL, Deb. Drinking sounds good. Better than the 10 tons of homework that I have to do today, BLAH. I am so happy that Brutus did well though!!

Sounds good to me!  Think I should run it by my boss before I go? Wink

Tina - I'm sending good, strong vibes for your foster mom.

I had a crummy night. I woke up around 2ish and my lower back hurt and I just didn't feel good. I got up for awhile and then decided to go sleep in the guest room so I wouldn't wake DH with my tossing and turning. I woke up at 6 and jumped in the shower and when I came out to get my coffee, I saw that it was 5:20. I realized the guest bedroom clock hadn't been adjusted when the time changed. I think it's going to be a long day.

I hope there's some good news on Brutus today.

ETA - Yay, I just saw the good news on Brutus but I also saw the post about Maghee. Annie - I will be thinking good thoughts for you and Maghee today.

ETA again because I apparently didn't get enough sleep or haven't had enough coffee to read correctly this morning.

I'm the same way.  I loved Bubba but when he died I knew he was the last feline to be in my house.  Well that is if G isn't around anymore & a super special Siamese is thrust into my life.  Then all bets are off. ~L~

Jackie, take the receptionist a bottle of vodka.  All will be forgiven.

I am soooooooooooo stinking thrilled that Brutus got a clean biopsy!!!!!

But some thoughts for her strength would be appreciated.

You got it from us.... I will always be grateful for the care that Seacoast Hospice gave my grandfather in the last months of his life, so I hold hospice in high esteem.  I hope your foster mom's dad is supported in love and kindness while in their care.

Maghee, we're lovin' on you and hoping you and Annie can get some good news soon.

So glad to hear that Brutus got a clean biopsy.

Class registration for winter semester starts next week.  I really need to talk to Financial Aid about making sure that is all in place before I sign up for anything.  I cannot keep mooching off my sister, not even if she tries to write me off on her taxes - the turkey!

I really want some chocolate dipped pineapple right now... WHY are Edible Arrangements so stupidly expensive?
