    Mindless toosday

I went to bed at 9 last night oy. This pitch dark at 6pm stuff is going to take some adjusting to.

I'm not that thrilled about today. Lots of meetings to go to. I have too much to get done to spend all day in meetings. I have all day mtgs thurs and fri too.

Buddy is slightly better this morning....still limping (front left leg), but its not quite as bad.  He's not going to be happy with me when I take the houligans for a walk without him.  I'll have to do it on the sly...put him in Mom's room to keep her company before I even exercise, then walk the others.  He likes keeping her company; and she loves it too.  Smile

DH slept in this morning....got up after me (rarity) at 5:30.  Yeah, this time change is tough on the ole body clock for a while.

Owner meeting here in the office today.  I'm still up to my eyeballs in work.

Time change is not so bad except the cats think 4:00a is really 5:00a and time to get up.  Of course, Moose the cat thinks I should get up at 3:00a and feed him, so I'm lucky to get any peace after that point.  I told him if he didn't straighten up, he'll be spending the nights in Bear's old crate.  Moose is my "knock things over" cat.  Missy prefers to just pounce on me to get me up.

Amanda, I was trying to remember the words to Copacabana when you said your foster dog's name is Lola.  I loved that song!

Barbara, I hope Buddy feels a little better after some rest.

Must get to the mountain of invoices now.

Buddy:  come to our house.  Jamison can show you how to chill - he's very good at it !!

We went to see the USS New York make her maiden voyage up the Hudson yesterday.  It was made from steel recovered from the WTC site.  When it got to where the WTC was, they gave a 21 gun salute with all hands on deck.  It was very moving.

Jamison was being a pill last night.  The neighbors have a cat that ocassionally roams at night, which drives him crazy.  But last night, instead of barking at the cat he was barking at me to get up and watch the cat with him !!!  Idiot !!!

Oh Deb, that must have been awesome!  I saw the clip on the news and felt a shiver of pride and sadness all at once.  I would have loved to be there.  My ex-h, who served 27 years in the Navy and was from New York, would have been proud to see that ship commissioned and make that voyage.

    Did you get any pictures?

No because we went right from work and I didn't remember to bring my camera which was at home.  Duh !!!!!!!!

Wow, I'll bet that WAS awesome Deb.  Nice tribute!

Man, I can't get anything past Buddy.  He knew exactly what I was up to this morning; and none too happy about it.  Mom said he wouldn't stay in her room with her....just stayed at the front door whining and grumbling.  Poor boy.  He's going to be on forced rest on the office floor for the better part of the day today.  Its he!! getting old.

I wish somebody would put me on forced rest.

    That is all.

    Same here!

I need more coffee, or maybe a nap.  Not sure which one I need more.

Have I mentioned that I hate the time change?  I still have to run in the dark in the mornings, & now I have to run in the dark in the evenings as well.  Can we have our old time back?

Sleep - Oh so tired this morning. It was a long day getting home yesterday but we were thrilled to be back. Dogs were happy to see us and the house looked almost as clean as when we left. By the time we unpacked and spent some time with the dogs, it was midnight. Boy, our own bed felt like a little slice of heaven though. Sassy woke me up early though and DH hadn't reset the clock in the bedroom, so what I thought was 6 AM was really 5 AM. Sad

It's sunny this morning but brrrrrrr cold. I think I can safely put the summer clothes away and pull out the winter stuff.

Welcome back to the mainland, Cathy!  How long does it take to fly from the islands to CA?  What's the time zone difference between the two?  The jet lag and the end of daylight savings time probably has your schedule messed up.  Good thing you took today off so you can get a good nap in!

Thank you Tina. It's about a 30 min. flight from Maui to Honolulu and then from there it's a 5 hour flight into Sacramento. There was a 3 hour time difference when we went over but since they don't set the clocks back, it was only a 2 hour difference when we came back. My poor brain has enough trouble with the whole switch anyway, so this could take awhile to get used to. A nap is definitely in the cards for the day.

Can anyone send me $3500 please?  Ugh...I have to replace my furnace.  Its got a big crack in it and is unsafe.  I had a guy here to look at it and see if he could fix it, but nope.  Its dead.  I kinda expected it.  The furnace is like 21 years old.  Sigh.  Since Winter in NW Ontario without a furnace is not an option I guess I have to do it.  I'm gonna check with the Insurance people though, and see about using a Pellet stove as my primary heat source.  The dude told me they likely won't allow it and that I'll need a furnace anyway, but hey, he sells and installs furnaces so he may be a bit jaded right?  Well it won't hurt to ask.

Still sending out big Go To Work Vibes to Godzilla...

The nap card is being played right now at my feet.  Buddy ate a nice breakfast, went outside to do business, and is currently sawing Zzzzzs at my feet.  I noticed he was walking better too, so that's very good.

Join the club Cathy....although you're probably having more of an adjustment considering the time zones and the time change.  Smile
