Mindless Munday

Tina, I'm glad that Agnes is feeling a little better.  The bread was very easy to make.  It was my first successful attempt to make bread.  (There have been numerous failures, & I had resorted to leaving the bread making to DH.)

It is flooding here today.  It usually takes me 15 minutes to drive from home to my office.  Today, it took me 50 minutes.  I wanted to work from home but I was supposed to be meeting with a client today.  The client was driving in from a different city, & decided to reschedule because of the crappy weather.  So here I am, stuck at work because I don't want to drive home in the rain.

On a upnote, with all of the rain Lake Travis & the other lakes in our area should be back up to normal pre-drought levels soon!

 I made bread yesterday too...just a loaf, and I made the dough in the breadmachine, but it's my normal recipe and for some reason, it just doesn't taste right.  Maybe there wasn't enough salt...ah well, its edible, and its orange, for Halloween.

Wait...Glenda won the lottery?  I'll obviously have to go back and read this weekends MC.  

ETA:  Congrats Glenda!  Next time don't give the poor girl such a hard time though!  LOL

Oh, ya, and I bought a new house!  I love it.  It's Contemporary, has tons of windows, a pool, and even a secret room!  I put a Tiki Bar on the deck and all my stuff from the old place fits fine, with a few new additions!  So, come visit!  At least those of you on Yoville...I think I might go get my hair done later too...hehe.

We're getting the rain this morning.  Heavy rain.  I have a Vet app't for Rex this afternoon and I hope I don't have to resort to  wearing my waders. lol

Abbie and sunshine are so cute together. They never stop playing except to eat or sleep. Its fun to abbie so floppy puppy playful instead of her usual intensity.

My head is dizzy today. I felt like I was going to fall over this morning so I'm home from work. Prob still getting over the flu bug.

I need to find a girl or boy scout group to help be my "victims" for training abbie and or neiko

Off to a good start this week.  I had intended on fertilizing the yard yesterday, but didn't get around to it with all the football fun we had.  Yay our Houston Texans are 4 and 3... with 2 back to back wins.  WooHoo!  Anyway, the fertilizing didn't get done yesterday evening as planned, so I did it this morning.  In. The. Dark.  LOL.  There I was pushing my little fertilizer spreader at 6:30am, before the roosters even woke up.  I hadn't planned on doing it so early.....but I saw lightning in the distance, so I knew the rain was on its way.  I did the whole yard just in the knick of time....it started raining about 7:30am.

We had an appointment at HCAD (Harris County Appraisal District) this morning at 10:30am.   But, DH has an appointment so he wanted me to reschedule the appointment.  I called them and long story short:  We didn't even need to go in at all!!!  Last time we were there, we signed an affidavit that stated we didn't even need to appear for this hearing.  WooHoo Again!  Apparently, they had the hearing last week; and decreased the tax even more than we had expected.

What a great way to start the week!

My dog just showed up in my office with a Starbucks cup, & a half of a croissant.  I wonder who is missing their breakfast...

LOL!  Geez, Amanda, Bevo drinks coffee and beer?  He certainly makes your life interesting.

I am at home with my 5 yr old boy who has high fever, one vomiting episode, cough, runny nose, body aches and fatigue.  Does it help to know that h1n1 is in his school?  Joy.

He loves coffee.  He drinks beer because he thinks that he's special when I let him finish off the last little sip. 

What he doesn't know is that he's "special" in more ways than one.... ;)

Missed my exit for work this morning so had to catch the next exit. I managed to hit every single red light before getting to work. Great.

Not so thrilled about working today. Lily is home alone and I left her inside because the ground was freezing cold and frosty, but it looks warmer now so she's probably pretty bummed she can't go outside. Have a longer drive home tonight and I've realized that there are a lot of crazies out there on the road!

I am home alone during the week now...BEN WENT BACK TO WORK!!!!!! Holy crap! I never thought I'd see the day! I miss him so much though. But a regular pay check will be nice for him. I just can't believe that he never needed physical therapy like they expected. 3 months after breaking his back he went back to work. Not even light duty, he can do everything that he was doing before. Isn't that amazing?

4 1/2 more hours of work and then home to relax!

Well, just as quickly as I say the week has started off well; I get hit with a big a$$ brick.  OMG, my DH just called me with some unbelievable news.  He is livid and I am just in shock; and our nephew is in such big trouble.

uh oh, Barbara, that doesn't sound good!!  I hope all turns out okay!!!

I'm at work yet again today.  But this evening Derek is taking me to a big farm thing so I can get my pumpkins!!  I love halloween!!

I wish I still had leftovers from dinner last night, I made pork schnitzel with mashed potatoes and green beans!!  YUUUM!  All that's left over is the mashed potatoes.  Maybe tonight I will fry those up and have chicken nuggets or somethign with them.  or maybe put in some sausage?  I dont know

Anyone know any good mashed potatoe left over recipes? 

Oh, and a word of wisdom (i know in my whole 24 years lol) that I wish to pass on, actually from last week, DO NOT GOOGLE SYMPTOMS.  lol last week I had myself convinced I had cancer.  I had all of the symptoms for it, and freaked myself and Derek out sooo bad!!  But I went to doctor and she laughed at me lol.  So don't do it!  I feel really good about it now, but at the time, not so good!

I am in a good mood today, despite stuff at the office and my pile of work that I'm procrastonating doing.  BUT YAY PUMPKIN BUYING TONIGHT!  And this farm (i know, I'm back tracking here) has this whole halloween set up thing.  And I *think* Derek will let me buy what I want.  His only rule now with the decorations is no more electrical!

I just *HOPE* my brother can get me a casket!!  He got one for his house from work (he works at a funeral home) and said he *might* be able to get me one!!  I hope he does!!
