Do you let your dog lick you in the face?

Tootsie, will lick my face, if I ask. She likes to lick hands mostly.

I can't stand dogs licking my hands, arms, toes, etc. but I will allow cheek and ear kisses - none on the lips if I can avoid it.  Maggie will only kiss when asked and it's a very light touch on my chin, Z will give a few good cheek licks with an occasional ear wash if you are at her level, and Kes LOVES giving kisses and will clean my cheeks and ears if I let him.  My parents' dog Gryffin likes giving ear washes lol.

Yes, I let them give me cheek kisses, but I hate when they try to lick up my nose.  It's so gross.  King only gives kisses for treats and Puppy tries to lick your whole face.  I can't stand when Puppy tries to lick my feet when I'm watching tv, it's so gross.

    I don't think I've ever gone a day without a Talus kiss or lick...and he's five.

p.s. Bevo can come get kisses any time he wants...

Of course we let them lick our faces!Big Smile

Sally can be a little obsessive about the licking, so we have to keep things under control with her.  Jack is very into ears.  He loooooves him some ears.  Sally loves mouths and DH thinks it's hilarious that she will lick the back of his front teeth Ick!.  I have to admit, that goes a bit far for me.  I will eat and drink after me dogs and my horse, but inside the mouth is where I draw the line.  Interestingly enough, Jack seems repelled by an open mouth.  If DH opens his mouth is Jack is licking his face Jack stops licking and turns away.

Both dogs LOVE licking lotion off of skin.  My mom always has lotion on her feet and legs and the dogs will follower her around trying to lick it off.

I do allow lickies on the face....I see it as another way for them to show affection.  Typically, they don't do it unless we ask for kisses and  its directed to the chin or the cheeks.  I don't like kissies on the mouth 'cause, you just don't know what they've been cleaning 5 minute before hand...lol.  I admit, too, although I allow and encourage kissing, I wipe of my face immediately afterwards.  I always have it in the back of my mind....they are going to think..."Hey Ma, don't wipe off my kissies!"  LOL

They all tolerate my hugs and kisses too....I love hugging and kissing Heidi when she is sleepy....she gets such a sweet face and knows I'm showing affection.  She is becoming so much more lovey as she matures.

DH also encourages kisses....and its cracks me up to watch.  This big burly guy asking for doggie kisses.  Very sweet!  But, guaranteed.....you won't see him doing that in front of any of his friends.  Big Smile

Sure.  Max has a *thing* for toes and moisturizer/hand lotion etc.

Definitely!  Unless, of course, he has just caught a rat, eaten a cicada, chewed on a raw bone, eaten a baby dove, or snarfed up a guinea pig poo!

Lacie and Zoe are my lickers and it doesn't bother me.  And yes, sometimes they lick me in the face and no, I don't care.  Rex never licks and Keisha only occasionally.

    Oh Joyce......thats right....that is a thing I forgot!

Gibby gives solf little kisses on my face..and I swear....his eyes make me know they are kisses of love.

However....there is the licking of my arms, legs and hands that he tries to lick all the cream back off.

I wasn't into kisses until I got Kivi. He only kisses when he's feeling particularly affectionate, which is still at least once a day. Usually he licks my jaw and under my ear. It's pretty endearing! Erik gets into lovey dovey moods where he feels he needs to sit in my lap and lick me all over. It's a bit icky, but in comparison to hanging off my ankles with his teeth, I find I'm more tolerant than usual!
