Mindless Chatter- Weekend

The weather is disgusting, strong winds and rain.  I took Ben to the park and when I left the house it had stopped raining, but of course as soon as I threw the ball the heavens opened.  I am thankful for waterproof clothing LOL.

Don't worry, Labs have a waterproof hide.

This is weird.. I've got a dog small enough to sit on my lap without messing up my typing.. As I write this, Sandy is laying on my lap and Maze is at my feet chewing on a ball...Tongue Tied It still feels weird to me having two dogs..

Had a shower today and it gave me a headache!! THIS SUCKS! I was fine until I hopped in the shower.. *sigh* I think I'm coming down with a cold. I can't stop sneezing and my throat hurts. And I've got OB class tonight.. In a barn.. With horses.. *dies*

Tonight is Sandy's first class but she's not going for the training yet. I'm trying to build up her confidence a bit. She's gotten ALOT better since I brought her home but she's still leery about some things. And she's afraid of the dark.. Lol. OH! And when Big Sister Maze isn't there to protect her, Sandy doesn't like to do our usual walk.. Once we get moving she's fine but in the start, Sandy doesn't want to move.  So now my morning walks consist of walking Two dogs on my right side and pray to god that I don't trip over the little one...

Sandy's getting more vocal when playing with Maze and she's starting to play with the toys now. Before she wouldn't touch them at all. It was almost like she'd never seen a ball before.

Tomorrow I'm offically jobless again. I hate this.. I wish I didn't have to quit but I can't work somewhere where they don't teach me my job and don't let me do my job.. Here's hoping I get a call back from A&W tomorrow.. *shudder*

I forgot to ask everyone to keep their fingers crossed - BF had an interview last Monday for an assistant to a family court judge. It's a county position...with a SALRAY. A good enough salary that I'd only have to work part-time. Since BF wants to go to law school next year, it'd be a perfect job! So...fingers crossed please?

Fingers crossed for a great interview, & a job offer for BF!

The monster wanted me to make sure that you knew that he had his paws crossed as well...

     *fingers crossed here too*

I HAVE WATER!  This may not seem like much of a deal to most.  But living in this house is a nightmare.  We have one day of below freezing temps and the water line freezes.  Granted, the water should have been running somewhere in the house, and we know that, but you forget these things over the summer.

I'm working on the remainder of the skirting and Tyler spent a good part of the day under the house thawing the pipes, but now its dark and Tyler's gone to work.  I can't let the dogs out though, as I had to disassemble the kennel in order to get to the skirting and I wasn't setting it back up only to take it back down tomorrow.  Sigh.  Can someone send me some warm weather vibes and some obscure closing of the highschool tomorrow so I can stay home and work on the house?  (We close when the HS closes since 99% of our business comes from HS kids at lunch.)

Shadow crosses his forelocks, too. I call it "posing like a gentleman."

I just looked on the main forum page and I am the most active user. I win, whatever that means.

It just occurred to me that some people from the north may wonder what I mean by enjoying cool mornings. This morning was actually 37 F where I live. With a high in the 60's. We call that heaven. There are times when we have days or weeks of temps over 100 F. We call that August. Fall is one of the best times in Texas. Not too hot or cold with pretty colors. Of course, Shadow likes the cold. He will play in the snow with his toys. Or just play. Here he is in the middle of a blizzard.

This is what I was driving home in that day.

Water is very exciting, regardless. I'm always impressed and grateful when I turn on a faucet -- how novel it is that I have CLEAN WATER coming out of a faucet all in my house. LOL, I'm easily impressed. I hope it gets warm, but the high school closes. Maybe THEIR pipes will freeze :D wouldn't that be ironic?!

Thanks all for the crossed fingers - ESPECIALLY Bevo! I can't see how BF could not get it, with as handsome of a boy as Bevo crossing his paws!

I finally finished my massive lesson plan project. Whew! I was cutting it a little close. Even though I was off all day, BF's parents invited me and Pirate to go for a boat ride to 'Disappearing Island' - a sandbar in the Intercostal Waterway - with their dog Murphy and I couldn't refuse. Pirate had the. best. timez. EVAH. I let him drag a leash and chase the birds and he did some rockin' recalls from like a million miles away. Poor dog chased the birds across kind of a tide pool in the middle of the sandbar and got up to his chest before he realized - oh crap!! - that he was too deep and he had to *gasp* swim to the other side.

Poor Pirate!  He didn't catch a bird, & he had to swim.

DH is in New Orleans until Friday. Crying  I'm not sure what upsets me more, the fact that I really hate being away from him, or the fact that he gets to have fun in New Orleans while I'm stuck at home.

We did take the dogs for a hike this afternoon before he left.  Everyone had a blast, although Bev was a little annoyed that he was leashed most of the time.  This was the longest hike that Bev has been on in quite a while.  We were careful not to let him over-do it, but I think that he could have done a little more.

Bev is in a silly mood, & Shooter has been his 'target' tonight.  Poor Shooter, who is tired, has been pinched by Bev three times so far.  They are so funny together.  They are sharing a bed right now, & Bev is pretending to be asleep, while Shooter is actually asleep.  Bev keeps opening his eyes to make sure that Shooter is asleep, then he reaches over, & pinches Shooter on the butt.  Then he closes his eyes so that Shooter thinks that he's asleep.  Shooter jumps out of bed, gives Bev a dirty look, & then sees that Bev is "asleep" and looks around trying to figure out who keeps pinching him.  As soon as Shooter lays back down, Bev opens his eyes, looks over at me, & pinches Shooter again.Tongue Tied
