I think luvmyswissy advice is the same a do from time to time Embarrassed I'm sending the good vibes for you and Snickers: I hope the best will happen.

*I* won't convince you to keep him. I want him!

But really, whatever is best for Snickers. It seems like he really loves your house and routine. And I diiiiid promise his furever home a lifetime supply of bacon cheddars, so...

You know if you keep him for a long while just "looking for the right home", will he ever notice if one just doesn't come up and a year from now you still have this foster ? I am evil.

I'm not good at advice, I just get the dog and eventually DH gets used to it... not the recommended plan of attack lol.

editted to add... make it HIS idea, as in, gosh this dog has gotta leave soon, I'm SOOO sick of him and then DH will start defending the poor fellow and next thing you know he'll be talking YOU into keeping him.

Final idea... tell him about the next foster, how the dog is not really housetrainable due to incontinence and bites/attacks a little but you think you're ready for the challenge: That way he'll never want this one to leave

Annie, I have no good advice, so to speak, but I am sending you some "Come on Annie's DH, you know you want to keep Snickers" vibes.

well from my perspective 1 Grady, Aspen and Snickers totals a Bugsy in weight Wink so its like having one XL dog LOL

I think Callie asked the serious questions, I'm sure you have already considered them but perhaps the most important is finding out why DH says no.  My DH is the reason I don't have a second dog, I know that emotionally I get him closer to getting another and then reality hits.  I remain hopeful that we get there and soon but there isn't anything I can say or and 'trick' I could apply that would get the results I want.  I need to lead him to that decision.  Thats who he is.  May be that is the way to go for you too!

Good luck and Snickers sounds wonderful!

You know, after I posted this, I had a rather short conversation with Aspen (my biggest concern).  He made it VERY clear that he does NOT want Snickers to stay.  His opinion counts more to me than DH's.  DH would get over it.  Aspen won't as easily.  DH's issue is that we have enough.  NEVAH, I say.  Aspen is stressed out by him.

I talked to the owner of my favoritest doggie boutique & she offered to do a "meet & greet" for Snickers on the 6th of April.  We'll be there for 2 hours. People can come & meet him & see how wonderful he is in person.  So let me change my vibe request to one of the right home showing up.
