i-doggers, Help Me Convince DH That Snickers Needs To Stay (gradyupmybutt)

I knew it would happen sooner or later.  I've fallen hopelessly in love with Snickers (aka Snickelfritz).  He gets along well with the home team & he just seems to be a natural in my home.  I want to adopt him.  The problem is DH.  i-doggers, please, I need some "let Annie adopt Snickelfritz vibes".

How can you not love this face?

Okay, I know some of you are gagging @ him but he is a super love bug & is sooooooo very funny & has stolen my heart.

Good vibes coming your way from Rocky and me....... only took me 3 hours to talk hubby into driving 2 hrs to "look" at Rocky, lol!  I got some pretty good lines if you need someSmile

MY DH always gives in to me and my wishes.  But when he dosen't I offer to allow him to buy something he has always asked for.Devil

For example.  Let me keep the puppy and maybe we can get that plow for your truck????  Wink  He usually gives in..

Goodness gracious I almost had heart failure, I thought something was wrong with Grady when I read your subject line....phew!

He is a cutie patootie and he's small enough that he'll just fit in real nicely. Could you maybe not discuss it with DH and see what happens, see how long you can get away with it and then hopefully by the time he says something you'll be a perfect lil family

C'mon, Mr. Annie, you know you want to....

Just tell him if you have to give Snickers away, you'll get over it in time, but it may be awhile before you're interested in cooking or other things Wink

Nah, Cathy, that won't work.  I hardly cook as it is. ~LOL~

Sorry, Aurora, I changed the title so people won't be confused.  Grady the Black Assassin is fine.  He & Snick are getting along great.  I have a feeling that they will be good buddies in a little while.  My plan was to tell DH that I will not foster any more if he lets me adopt Snickers.  Snick has gotten used to our schedules & ADORES DH.  You should see how Snick greets DH when he gets home.  His butt wiggles so much that he almost wags off his rear feet.  Then he does the "daddy's home" dance.  He DOES look like a caterpillar too when he does it.

Snickers is SO cute!!!! I hope you get to keep him!!!

    Ok, Callie-the-voice-of-reason here.

    1.  What are your husband's reasons for NOT wanting him?  How valid are they?  Is it something subjective like 'we have enough" or is it more concrete "vet bills for one more dog will break us".

    2.  Are you honestly THE best family for Snickers?  Are there needs there that really aren't covered?  Not just "gets along ok" but "completes" the family?

    3.  look SO closely at your home pack -- anyone getting a bit miffed or jealous?  Does it suddenly leave somebuddy odd man out?

I'm not really trying to talk you out of this Annie -- but I've SO been there -- and it can truly completely change things.

I truly prefer a 2 dog home ... not a 3 dog one.  I probably feel that way more than David does.  But 2 dogs are far easier to just 'take and go' -- 3 is much tougher.  And it can be that little one that is the "hmmmm just a bit too much".

I love Kee -- and I"m not sorry at all we took her ... but it IS harder and it IS more vet bills.  So like I said I'm not trying to talk you out of it -- just make sure you ARE doing what is best for all of you ... and good luck.

Annie, I have four, and that's even one more vet bill, but I would rather buy Walmart knockoffs and keep the dog.  Tell him you won't shop for a year!

    • Gold Top Dog

Tell him he's been up for adoption, and no one wants him =]

You can tell your DH that any dog named Snickers is a keeper. I'm sure that's written in some law some where.
