How Big of a Dog can a Coyotee run away with?

I would say normally coyotes don't like getting too close to humans, but if they are in an area where there are lots of people, the coyotes may become habitualized to humans.  This is becoming a bigger problem with the urban coyotes.  I lived in a rural area in NM where one of my neighbors came home one night and there was a coyote on the front poarch.

As far a jumping goes, I've seen one clear my 4.5 foot field fence (with a wire above that, so add another 4-6 inches) without touching or hesitating.

I have a 15 Lb dog and i want to know if a coyotee can take it can run away with it when i am walking her

Yup.  A coyote can and will take that dog if given the chance.

And those of you with larger dogs aren't safe either.  A single coyote will lure a dog to follow him/her into an ambush of several coyotes.  So unless one has two or more LGDs, those dogs aren't that safe either.

Make sure you don't leave food outside for your dog.  This is the biggest attractor of predator species!.

i have seen a single coyote tear the throat out of a big horn sheep.... surprise attack yes, but it worked. that lone coyote had dinner all to himself.

We have them out here but they pretty much keep themselves to themselves. we have a lot of hunters out here, and the good ole boy philosophy is "the only good coyote is a dead coyote". I'm not at all worried about the bullies getting into trouble with them.. maybe if there were several yotes.. or the bigger mountain strains of coyotes.. but most are solitary beings as a rule. they might pack up during hard times mating seasons, or travel in a family group for a short while.. but for the most part its usually no more than one or two.

Doesnt mean they cant change those tactics. they will partner up with badgers in order to catch burrowing animals.. they're resourceful and smarter than all get out. i wouldnt under estimate one, not for a second.
