Yes, you are. That is exactly what you are doing. You simply cannot believe that company would offer a smart person like Papillon a hefty salary to help with their food that might lead to increased sales.

 
I absolutely do believe that a company might try to hire someone like her at a hefty salary, just nowhere NEAR the number she quoted, and certainly not in the manner in which she described it being offered.  An opinion, BTW, that is shared by, now, 3 people, within the PG organization.  The whole story stinks.
 
If someone wants to come on here, spewing a line of *rap, and attempt to pass it off as factual, that is fine by me.  It might even be entertaining.  Just don't insult my intelligence, such as it is, by not even making an attempt to make the story believable.  Making the story believable, afterall, is part of what makes a story a good one.

This whole conversation is getting upsetting...and while I can just ignore it and not read it,,,I can't!

Billy, honestly, you're doing everything BUT outright call her a liar. If she is lying, and that's NOT my personal opinion, let it go.
 
Look at it like this, what does she have to gain from lying to a bunch of people she hardly knows? What do we have to lose from believing her? What do we have to lose by accusing her of lying? I can tell you, false accusations on a message board cause more problems than believing a lie on a message board.

Yeah, I am getting kind of bored with it myself.  I said, a post or two ago, that I have nothing substantial to add to what I have already said.
 
I have no reason to doubt that she has attained the level of education she claims so no, I am not calling her "stupid."  Furthermore, I am not calling her a "liar."  That would constitute a personal attack and would be a violation of the rules here.  Even if this exchange had taken place on the "no holds barred" USENET, I am not at all sure I would be comfortable calling her a liar, because I don't have enough information to form that conclusion.
 
What I am saying, for all of the reasons I have already stated in this thread, is that I believe this story to be a complete and total fabrication.  You see, I can say that and still be within the rules here.  What I am NOT sure of is exactly who fabricated the story.  I have my suspicions, but I cannot be certain.
 
And with that, I would prefer to conclude my participation in this thread.

And I'll take it one step further and help you ...notice the OP from the original thread hasn't been back.
