Tracy - I agree that the horizontal blinds are heavy but I can honestly say that in my other house, I almost never pulled them up. In our family room, we have three windows that are probably 6 feet tall and at least 3 feet wide. Even the honeycomb blinds weigh a lot but if you want light, you have to pull them up. In the afternoon, I put them down to block the sun and then open them again as the sun sets. I find it a pain but I'm just lazy and like being able to have a little or a lot of light with just the twist of a wand. I hadn't thought about the hassle of dusting all of them though :(

Good thoughts for Belle's tail.

For the non-FB folks. Riley is getting to go home today. Lisa is super happy.

I'll have to pay more attention to Ruby's tail when she's moving around the house; I don't think I've heard/seen it whack anything besides us.  She's generally moving too fast to have time to hit anything, I guess!  

Too funny about Belle's cone dance.  Sounds like a good candidate for "Funniest Home Videos!"

Speaking of funny things dogs do . . . has anyone seen/read the book called I Could Chew on This; Poetry by Dogs?  I spotted it in my doctor's waiting room yesterday (her dog is always in the office).  It was all I could do not to make a scene laughing out loud all by myself in the room.  It was so funny.  I'm ordering it from Amazon, stat.  The guy wrote it as a follow-up to his best-seller called I Could Pee on This; Poetry by Cats.  Great holiday gifts, I think!

My granddaughter Ava is much better today.  The Dr said if my daughter (late 30-ish)  was like Ava was yesterday she probably would be after Halloween or longer before she felt better.  Kids are so resilient.  They did another round of antibiotics intraveineous with fluids today just for good measure.  The schools are out for Parent/Teacher conf so she will not be missing but 1 day of school.  Dr. said XRays were already improved today.

Today is my other Granddaughter, Addison's, birthday.  You guys might remember I spent the first week of her life taking care of her because her Mom was not released from the hospital and my son stayed with her most of the time.   I cant believe she is 7 years old today. 

Mom is doing good, she had P.T. again today cant wait to see how it went.  She decided to make Dad some pudding yesterday(Sugar Free Instant).  Said she thinks she was up too long but it felt good to do something :)

Jackie...poor Belle...I have been thinking about getting a "lampshade" for Rocky.  I gave him a shower this morning and rinsed him with vinegar water.  His itchy, chewing, scratching thing is just getting worse.  We feel so bad but nothing seems to work.  He doesnt have "Happy Tail" thank for the explanation btw, that happen to him one time several years ago.  Him and Hot tried to get thru the door at the same time... both tails wagging and he yelped, after that it was tender and droopy.  You dont suppose this could be a residual thing to that?  Yes, I am grasping.

Somehow I missed your post, Cathy, before typing mine.  You're right -- your windows are so large that heavy blinds would be an issue no matter what!  As for the dust, no one notices it but me.

Thanks for the bday wishes! There was cupcakes and brownies at training tonight for the occasion (I share my bday with a teammate too). Now I will have to diet tomorrow to make up for all those calories lol

Shades for the whole house. Ugh I can't even imagine that cost. I was looking at shades for my bedroom over the weekend and couldn't decide on a style. I absolutely hate the blinds I have now. They are metal and impossible to clean plus are all bent out of shape on the edges. My bedroom windows are super sized though so it will be expensive to replace.
