    Wicked Wednesday chat

    Good Morning everyone!

Yucky gloomy day here today, but guess it's that time of year.

I'm so excited about the new house.  Get this....it used to be part of a huge horse ranch, or the property anyway.  How weird is that with my love for horses?  Can't wait to get moved and play in that kitchen!  In the meantime though, my mind is going in a million directions between getting ready and work, and making calls re: utilities.......

Apologies for the non-baseball fans, but dang!  That was an outstanding game last night between the Tigers and Red Sox.  The pitching on both sides was just incredible.  That's the kind of game that makes both teams champions regardless of the eventual outcome.

OK, best stop dawdling and get ready for work.  Have a great day everyone!

    very cool about the house.

It's icky and gloomy cold here too

    That's all I've got.

So glad that you're excited about the move!!!! Sounds like a quite a pitching duel last night. We haven't watched baseball since our sons have left home, but I would have enjoyed the game last night. Have a great day everyone!!!

Chilly this morning but sunny. Wish I could share the sunshine with all of you.

Happy Birthday Julie!!! I posted on FB but wanted to say it here too. Do you have any fun plans?

Good thoughts for Riley to be able to go home today. I know Lisa and her husband are probably exhausted.

We had 17 windows measure yesterday for blinds. We'll go to Lowes on Friday and find out how much it'll cost for them. DH wants them all done at once but he might change his mind when he sees the price. A few windows are a priority though. They've got the honeycomb shades on them right now but I pulled them up once and then they jammed and I had a heck of a time getting them back down. I haven't opened them since. I also don't like that with the shades they're either up or down. I like being able to turn a wand and let light in.

Julie, happy birthday.  Don't blame me for spilling the beans here. lol

Rainy and on the cool side here.  I love it though it makes for muddy dogs.

Belle has "happy tail" and is wearing the cone of shame.  Her tail already looks better this morning after just one day of not licking it.  Her pitiful looks don't phase me a bit but DH kept wanting to take it off her.  I'm the tough love member of our family. lol

Happy birthday to your DS, Tina.  I heard there was cake involved.  I guess my invitation got lost in the mail.

Deb, is there any rum left in the islands?  Hope you had a great time.  We don't hate you.  We fear you too much. lol

    Jackie:  what's "happy tail" ???

When a dog hits their tail against something and injures it.  Called "happy tail" because dogs with long, whippy tails that wag a lot often injure them.  I'm surprised that this is the first time it's happened to Belle as she is constantly whacking her tail against things.

See, you learn something new everyday !  Good thing I came back.

Give Belle and all your dogs big smoochies from Auntie Deb.

Even if you left right now, there is a good chance nary a crumb would be left by the time you got here. DS loves cake. Wink

Ruby's tail definitely falls into the category of "long and whippy."  And what she's usually whacking it against is me or DH.  Hitting our legs is one thing, but we put ourselves at great risk when we crouch to greet her when we come home.  I've been whipped across the face more than once.  That would be an interesting thing to explain to an ER doctor if I had an eye or cheekbone injury!

Birthday wishes going out to Julie and to Tina's son!  In honor of the special occasions, western Oregon is having absolutely spectacular autumn weather today:  bright sun, high 60's.  Expected all week, so that's a gift for me, birthday or not!

Cathy, it's funny you don't like the honeycomb shades.  We have those in the bedrooms, but we put the wide-slat horizontal blinds in the living & dining rooms.  We often say how much we wish we'd done honeycombs everywhere.  They're so much lighter and easier to pull up and down, and no dusty slats!  But there are drawbacks to any style.

Deb, welcome back!  Did you go to the Bahamas?  For some reason I thought you went to Hawaii, but your drink is telling me otherwise!

Yes, Paradise Island.  It was wonderful.

Tina, I guess I'll have to make my own cake and eat it too. :)

Tracy, Belle's tail whacks the furniture, the door frames and anything else she passes.  I guess I'm glad she's such a happy dog. We have a paper shredder and when she whacks that it makes a noise like a gunshot.  We all jump ten feet because it's so loud.  Belle never even flinches.  That's my girl. lol  She's never whacked us in the face with her tail because we wouldn't dare crouch down to greet her.  We'd be in the ER for sure. lol

Deb, smooches will be delivered. :)  When I went home at lunch I let the dogs out to potty.  I took Belle's cone off so she could do her thing without the cone hampering her style.  When I was ready to leave I got the cone and put it on her.  She was so happy and excited and bouncing around like crazy. Either she really really loves wearing the cone (no, she does not!) or she loves the cookie she knew she'd get. It's really fortunate that dogs aren't all that smart about some things. lol
