Karen, congrats on the new faucet.  I was going to suggest just refusing to go in the kitchen until everything was up and running, but now you can save that for next time something decides to leak.

I found Sandie's post but I never found Leslie's.  Did she post here or just on FB?

Callie, I was thinking of you while watching news coverage of the explosions at the propane plant.  Was that very close to you? Those types of incidents are really scary. It's amazing that the injury count wasn't a lot higher.

This cooler weather is spoiling me, but we still have about 2-1/2 months to go before we can count on cooler weather staying around.

Sarah, I agree with Karen about the house cleaning in preparation for your mom's visit.  Unless she's the Queen Mother, don't sweat it.  That's great about your dog park friend becoming your dog walker and the price can't be beat.  I'm sorry your little man had to resort to his teeth yesterday. Hope today is a better day for him and for you.

Joyce, Leslie didn't post on the forum.  Tasha died suddenly of cancer.  :(  I don't know how old she was but it doesn't matter because it's always too soon to lose them.

Karen, I'm so glad you have a working kitchen sink.  What's for dinner?

    Tracy, have fun!

    Yay for working kitchen sinks!

DH and I are not good at putting things away and he, in particular, is quite comfortable with a LOT of clutter. That is what is concerning me the most about my Mum visiting. I also have a tendency to convert excitement into anxiety. I worry about all the little details so I'm not overwhelmed with emotion (good or bad) about the big picture.

If you think this is bad you should have seen me a year ago when we were waiting for the word to travel to Armenia. DH had to scrape me off the ceiling quite a few times. When I think back on it now it is quite funny but at the time.....well. One year ago we were harassing our social worker and our lawyer just to get an update on how Little Man was, and waiting weeks to hear back. Now I worry about him at daycare but I can see for myself how he is doing when I pick him up every day. Less than a year of huge transitions and I can understand why he got frustrated with a friend and sunk his teeth into her.

    I just have to remember.

Today is too slow at work so I have too much time to think. However, I did have a wonderful salad and scrumptious beer and cheese soup for lunch.

I'm sure he must be a close relative of my DH. :) Mine doesn't even see it! lol  Your description of converting excitement into anxiety is brilliant.  That probably describes a lot of us.  I know I do the same thing.  Do as I say not as I do is my oft repeated motto.  :)  Don't you hate when you feel you have so much to do at home but are stuck at work where it's s l o w?

No Joyce -- all ok here thankfully.

Me too!! (((Hugs))) Your mom is going so busy having fun with your Little Man that she's not going to notice any clutter :)

    Just to add things on.....

A position has opened up at a "company" I've been watching for some time. It will require a rewrite of my resume and a cover letter composed within 1 day to apply before it closes on Friday. I know they will have a lot of applicants and my resume can make me look way overqualified, even though my heart is leading me in this direction. Hopefully, they will understand that since it is with the Bishop's staff.

Cross your fingers and paws for me folks....I'm gonna dive in!

wishing you the very best Sarah!

"Nessie" is very tired this evening LOL

I made a gorgeous salad for dinner. I bought a quinoa tabbouleh salad from Costco that is fabulous!

I love salads in the summer

    Tons of positive vibes Sarah!!!

Shane has been so sleepy today. I should be happy that he's not glued to me but instead I find myself worrying *sigh* I'm going to take my 1st bubble bath since we moved here :)
