Well I still have no kitchen faucet - this makes me angry at this point. Not sure what DH is planning to do but I better have one by dinner!

Took B kayaking, pretty and fairly cool morning

I guess we were both starting one at the same time, Karen.  I hope you have water in the kitchen by dinner time. 

 LOL, Karen, I got that once.  DH thought I was going to make dinner with no water...we ordered some pizza!

I hope your faucet gets repaired today Karen.

I didn't sleep well last night. I'm sure I got enough but the wakefulness in the middle of the night is just annoying. I'm glad that doesn't happen to me very often.

I'm only going to work Tues. & Thurs. for the month of August, plus I'm taking 1 week off when my friend comes to visit. As a retired annuitant, I can only work 960 hours a year and working 3 days a week for the entire year will push me over the limit. I didn't start until 6 weeks into the FY last year and nearly maxed out. Since my busiest time is April-June, I'm hoping this will work out well.

Ugh, Karen, just ugh.

I'm sorry for those of you who didn't sleep well. I had to LOL at your pissy colored glasses, Jackie.

Pod case - ha!  Jackie, even without a good night's sleep (and pissy-colored glasses), your wit is sharp this morning!  And Deb, your wit is in fine form, as always.  You guys are always so funny!

I slept a little bit better last night.  I bought a tiny desk fan yesterday and turned it on high all night.  It drowned out some of the noise from the apartment building.  I really have become addicted to white noise at night. 

Just heading out for another day of visiting and eating.  Today we're going to see a family friend who is a great cook and who has a fantastic patio, so I'm thinking lunch will be a very pleasant experience!  Tonight my friend who I've known for almost 25 years is coming over and we'll grab a later dinner somewhere close by.  I can't believe it's my last night here -- the week flew by! 

Good luck with your faucet issue, Karen.  Tell your husband you won't be preparing dinner using the bathroom sink, so a new faucet is needed PRONTO!

Um yes I am having a difficult time speaking to DH at the moment. He did just leave, hopefully to buy whatever it takes to give me running water in the kitchen again. I came home from taking B to the lake and DH's breakfast dishes were just sitting there. Apparently some dish washing fairy will be around at some point to wash them, where I do not know.

I have probably mentioned this before but messing with my food supply is a very bad thing. And as much as I enjoyed my take out burger, it ain't going to happen again. I like MY food and have a fridge full of wonderful things to cook and eat. Clearly I can cook and eat but I can't clean up.

ah well, it was super pretty at the lake this morning. I often groan and moan about going but I am always happy once we are paddling away

A friend of ours that has standard poodles, and does hospital visits with them, has been walking with us at the dog park for 5 years. She recently retired and offered to be our new dog walker! Today was her first day and she just emailed me her report. M&M were thrilled to have an outing with her and they behaved perfectly for her (honeymoon period). This is a huge weight off my shoulders as it is one less point of guilt for my busy life. The other massive thing is that she charges $4 per walk. Yup, no typo. That's $4. I told her she was crazy and she said she just wants to hang with dogs and the $$ is to cover gas.

Little Man had a bad day at school yesterday and ended up using his teeth instead of his words. Sigh.

Last night was consumed by chatting about what we should do instead of using teeth. I did manage to multi task and get some stuff done for my mothers pending visit. She may say that all she wants is a clean bed and a clean kitchen sink but she is too nice. I think that a vacuum, dust and tidy is in order but when am I supposed to do that!?!? I figure I'll get the second floor done this evening.
