I want to own a grey one day.
But for now I'm committed to my Ella. If I get anymore, it'll probably be another pit.
Pits, I feel, need me the most. But it's so hard to own more than one since they tend to be dog aggressive.
But I DO ever so want a grey!
They're SO beautiful!
There is a guy in my neighborhood who has a pit AND a grey.[

Seriously though...I fully understand why you love pits and feel that you need to give them a good home. My stepson has a lab/pit mix and she is a doll. My neighbor has the sweetest most calm, well behaved pit you could ever want to meet. They are fantastic dogs, with bad raps and a lot of bad owners out there. It is nice to come on i-dog and see responsible pit owners who can really give these dogs what they need. [

There are lots of breeds I would love to own (Danes and Dobermans are at the top of the list) but since working with greyhound rescue, I am not sure I could ever bring myself to own anything else since there are sooo many greys in need.
That is the same reasoning I have with getting the greys that have issues. I feel that I am better equipted and definately commited to help the dog have the best possible chance at a happy balanced life. Almost any good dog owner can do great with a regular calm greyhound, but the ones with behavioral or health issues or ones that are older are just not adoptable to most
eople. There is a HUGE sense of relief when the tough ones find a good home. I am glad I can do that for the couple who owns the shelter.
Know that you are doing a great thing for this breed and they need more people like you. Ella is so very lucky to have caught your eye![
