    Sorry should of replied sooner!

JJs Willow's toy is a gorilla, they all got soft toys for Christmas all of which lasted about 10 mins, I have a pack of soft toy killers.

Amy does have ligher eyes, will try and find some more piccies soon.  As for her coat, yep those are little white spots almost like she's been in the snow!  I actually fostered another greyhound with the same coat, never seen it before.

I have NEVER seen that before!!! At first I thought it looked like she had gotten into something, then I thought maybe she was turning grey and then realized that it didn't look like the case either!! How unique. .  .I have never seen one like that and you have fostered 2!!   Love the light eyes too!

    Yes, more pics please![:D]

jjsmom06 i  was wondering these walking groups do they allow teenagers cause i only 14. though i belevie i know way  more then most 14 year olds. I have convinced my parents to adopt two of our four dogs. I have books and research almost everyday. Just wondering if they  allowed kids. I mean i wanted to help at a shelter but am still to young but when old enough i willl and greyhounds are on my top list of shelters to volunteer at.

    Willowmum-
GREAT pictures, especially LOVE the roach.[:D]

Is willow in a new 2007 greyhound calendar?? There is a pic that looks very similar to the one in the grass of her on a brand new calendar.

Thank you for sharing your babies!  [:D]

Turtle- good for you for wanting to help with rescues and shelters!!  [:D]

the greyhound walks are just normal "walks" where folks bring their greyhounds. This is open to all family members. You could ask your local greyhound rescue if there are any greyhound walking clubs in your city.
    They are lots of fun!

I have an Italian Greyhound rescue, Angel, that is 6 years old.
This is the first time I have ever experienced this breed of dog and they are wonderful. I would assume they have the same temperament as the full size ones. I wish I would have know earlier about this breed, they would have been my choice of furkid from the start, aside from JRTs of course.
I have a question, how do you keep your babies warm in the winter months. I have sweatshirts for her but I find her little legs get really cold. Are there some sort of leg coverings you can get for them???
I am really new to this breed and any info and tips you's can give me would me muchly appreciated.

Wow I've been looking for some greyhound lovers everywhere!!! I am soon to be fostering a fawn 1 year old. I've met a really nice woman who runs a Greyhound rescue and am going to meet her next weekend...I will be bringing her(as of yet unnamed) home after her spay on the 26th...She was a racing dog who broke her ankle, poor girl, and came all the way from the states from a breeder. I'm used to dealing with rottis, shepherds and the occasional pit, so does anyone know any good websites or have any good advice(especially greys and kids?)?

First of all. .  .CONGRATULATIONS!!!!   [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]I am sure that owning a greyhound will change the way you view owning other breeds. Sighthounds are such a different type of dog and they have quite the personality! I am sure you will find them entertaining and always a source of amazement!

My suggestions would be to to get the book "Greyhounds for Dummies" and some adoption centers actually require that you buy the book and read it before adoption.   It is an excellent resource so Read it from top to bottom!

You also should visit the greyhound forum "greytalk" and you will find a ton of wonderful information.
I have owned greys for many years and have done volunteer work for a local rescue for many years as well so if you have any specific questions, feel free to pm me and I will be happy to answer any of them and my only stipulation is that you must share pics of your new fawn baby!!  [:D]

Good luck and let me knwo how your meeting goes!!

She is a beauty! I adore Iggy's and they are the only small breed I would ever consider owning. We had tons of different small and mid size dogs when I was growing up, but these guys are in a league of their own!!   The greyhound rescue I work with has 4 Iggy's and a brand new 4 month year old baby iggy named Spago. . .such a  doll!

My suggestion would be to look on some of the websites for greyhounds and whippets. Becasue of their shape, greys have a lot of special places you can buy coats and such. I haven't specifically seen leg warmers, but if you see something that fits a whippet or full size grey, then contact the person and see if they can make them smaller. Most of these places are just regular folks who sew the stuff by hand and can alter the sizes.

I would serch for greyhound, whippet or italian greyhound : sweaters, coats, snoods  and if you don't find a lot try "martingale collars" because lots of the people who make the collars also make clothes.  if I find something I will pm you and I will try to ask the people at the rescue.

    Thansk for the pic!

I keep Willow warm in the winter with a coat, I use a waterproof fleece lined one for cold day walks and a  rather posh cosy one for indoors.

Darn. .  .if you keep failing with these fosters, they aren't goingto ask you to foster any more dogs! [:D]

Lena- found some "leg warmers" on the posh pawz website, but they start at $80!!![:o]

They also start at size medium (probably for a whippet), but maybe they can make them smaller??
