My dad passed away from a terminal illness as well, so I can understand the feelings you are having right now: glad she's not suffering anymore but major grief over the loss.

It's such a difficult thing to go through. Again, I'm very sorry.

My condolences for your loss. She is in a better place, now.

Laurelin - there just aren't words, particularly right now.  You have been on my heart and in my prayers all week.

All I can tell you, hon is that 5, 15, 35, 50 years from now you will *Know* you did the right thing by staying out of school -- you will be thankful you did and it will give you tremendous peace later on that you made that decision. 

As we can let us hold your "hands" any time you need. 

 Laurelin, I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing.  From your posts, I could tell what a wonderful woman she was, and how much you loved her.  My thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Laurelin,  your mom was a beautiful and vibrant woman.  I'm so sorry for you and your family.  You will all be in my prayers.

 I have only just seen this thread.  I have no words... I just want you to know that I am thinking of you.  Knowing what this is like (it's only been 3 months and 2 days since I was in that place) I am just painfully aware of how lame that sounds, but it's true.  Sending big hugs.

 I am so, so sorry for your loss and that your family has to go through this.  Just know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers and that you did the right thing by your mom........

Laurelin, I have had to stay off this thread for the last week until I could handle reading it. I just started a month of in home therapy with a previous client of mine who had a brain tumor and then subsequently stroked and now has a very severe brain injury. I couldn’t handle reading this thread at the time because my heart still hurts for this mans wife and two young children whose father will never be the same no matter how much therapy we provide. Its already been more than a year of therapy and we are running out of options and his family is barely holding on most days so I know how hard it is for the family and I feel so much for your family right now.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother. How lucky she was to have you be near her in her last month of her life. Remember the good times and the vibrancy that was your mother and let the bad memories of the last months fade away with time. Wishing you and your family all the best during these difficult times.

I'm just now reading this whole thread about your beautiful mother......thanks so much for sharing her picture with us, what a wonderful picture it is.
