I'm sending lots of WARM vibes and CALORIE-FILLED thoughts and prayers to Willa! My cousin had her baby via C-section a couple years ago, and she was a normal weight at birth but lost too many ounces in the first few days, so they were concerned. The nursing wasn't going well for my cousin until about a week later, and sson all was well. Willa's in good hands and I'm sure they're checking everything carefully just to be sure. We're so used to hearing about gigantic babies these days at 8, 9 or 10 pounds -- 5 pounds sounds so tiny -- but when my mother had us, a 5-6 pound baby wasn't unusual. Today they have more ways to watch for things and catch issues early, so they're probably extra cautious.
Keep eating Willa -- as Callie said, take advantage of the opportunity to eat as much as possible with the intention of gaining weight!! Keep us posted Janice - we'll be waiting for updates!
