Prayers for my Bugsy please - it was not cancer

Bugsy, my dear, Caleb & I are thrilled to death that you're feeling well enough to be active again, but please listen to Mom and take it easy.  You don't want to popped all those stitches and staples.

Well I hope your healing vibes work better than your resting vibes LOL  He was fitful yesterday and non-stop - even decided to chase some crows in 103* heat when i turned my back Hmm

Bugsy feels good - I guess - basically he just lives his life a certain way and everything else is just a nuisance.  He developed the runs yesterday and his intestines sounded awful all night but no emergencies however we did have to get up at 5.  Apparently to chase possums. Big Smile I mean doG bless this boy his zest for life is indomitable.  I, on the other hand am getting anxious as we could find out anytime after today, gulp.

We are off to the vet for 10:20 because the top of the wound looks a bit redder than it was. sigh

Here's a little video of Bugsy resting

I took him for a short wander of the cul de sac today and he was happy to see one of our neighbors but not happy that we were going home so quickly.  I'm hoping that allowing him to do some sniffing will help settle him today

Fingers and paws crossed here for clean margins and no complications during recovery.

That video cracked me up. Squeakers don't last long in our house and I'm not always sad about that. Bugsy looks fantastic and other than a little lipo suction in his rear, you'd never know he'd had anything done.

I'll be holding my breath and praying that the news is good on the biopsy report and the vet visit today shows healing is progressing normally.

I see Bugsy and Flem have a lot in common in their understanding of resting.

Yep, they did something to me 24 hours ago and I was a bit woozy for a while but it is all gone now. Why don't we... chase the squirrels, zoom around the patio, play fetch or bitey-face ... What do you mean I have to down and snooze... I am fine, human, what is your problem ? What do you mean stay on leash and walk ?! I got stuff to do, ya know and running gets me to it so much faster. Going back in ?! Hey, I am not done here.

Gotta love the spirit even when it makes you pull your hair out.

How did Bugsy make out at the vet, Karen?

Sorry Lori, he said it was ok, somehow, ahem, Bugsy must have gotten something caught on his staples, thus the threads in it. Lol the vet did laugh when Bugsy was so happy to see him, said no hard feelings then. :)

Thalie that is the situation here. Last night a friend came by who loves B and whom B loves, well it was nuts, three people trying to get one beast to calm down! At 10:15 I finally said to the visitor he had to leave because B wasn't able to calm down. But of course he awoke at 5:30, grabbed several toys and was rolling around doing somersaults. Sigh.

to be so happy despite a chunk of his butt missing

Shoot, I'd probably do the same thing if I had a chunk of my butt missing, too.  Chunks of my thighs missing and who's telling what sort of acrobatics I'd do! lol  (just trying to make you laugh)  Glad to hear Bugsy is feeling good and was happy to see the vet and his friend.

If humans knew as much as dogs, they would not need dogs to show them what life is all about.

That said, Bugsy, look at me, yep, right there between the eyes. Don't run so hard you compromise your staples; remember, you want them outta your butt, not another new row put in. Got it ? Ok, you can have the cookie. Yes, we love you too.

emotional roller coaster here - spoke with DH last night about what we do if we get bad news - gladly we both agree.

Unfortunately that conversation haunted DH and he woke up and went in the guest bedroom and I could hear him crying.  It is truly remarkable how deeply these furry creatures work their way into our hearts. So DH is where I was earlier in the week, Bugsy is flat today and I am struggling to shake the blues.Wish I knew what we were dealing with, clearly I am hoping for clean margins but the not knowing and 'waiting' for the call is killing me!

Thalie I am pretty sure when you looked him in the eyes his tail was wagging, the wag of, "Oh I know I am trouble and y'all love me for it!"

My heart is so with you guys.

((((hugs)))) I keep trying to remember Bugsy's lesson: live in the moment!
