Callie needs our prayers

It's Saturday afternoon and finally something is *happening*.  During the night I got this huge 'blister' that came up in the middle of the worse of the cellulitis sites (like way bigger than a ping pong ball). A stiff, weird looking blister of hard (almost callous-like skin).

They put a dressing on it -- but that broke mid-morning (during a nap) and let's just say it was obvious my body's getting rid of infection.  More and more as time passes and in more than one way.

FINALLY the color of this is changing -- this has been the angriest, reddest, huge "wound" (liiterally my body has wounded itself with the cellulitis -- it looks more like an open wound in ways than cellulitis)

IT IS GETTING LIGHTER.  Finally today I feel encouraged.  FINALLY my body is resonding to this as it should.

Now *I* am asking!!  I covet your prayers folks.

Oh, Callie -- just reading the description of what you're dealing with makes my body hurt!  I'm glad you're feeling more hopeful today; that has to really raise your spirits.   My co-worker's daughter had a battle with MRSA after a surgery a couple years ago, and it's not fun.  I hope your body continues to respond and rally, and that all the vibes and prayers are working extra hard to help!

On a funny side note -- I saw in your other post your report about the male nurses.  My friend had an in-patient procedure a few months ago, and the story she had about it was hilarious.  I guess a couple of the techs were young, good looking guys.  She'd had some kind of medication to initially relax her, and she was lamenting (outloud) that she was sorry they had to see her without make-up and in hospital gown and a shower cap, etc.  One of the guys told her not to worry, that he had a cap on, too.  They had some silly banter until she was totally asleep.  She was afraid later that maybe she said something really embarassing to these young guys (she's in her late 50's).  The funny thing is she works in an admin area of the same hospital, so she hopes she doesn't ever pass them in the hall and they recognize her!  Big Smile

Take care -- I'll be thinking of you!

My prayers are still with you, Callie!  This doesn't sound like much fun, so my advice is to "milk it"    Wink

No more blister vibes, No more blister vibes, No more blister vibes....they just don't sound pleasant!!!  Oh, and no more MRSA vibes also!

I'm assuming you're getting lots of rest so I don't need to tell you to get some!  :)

Willow and I are praying for you Callie!  She said to let you know you are welcome to her whipped cream cheese for your pills if you need it.

I know exactly what you are describing, my grandmother had almost the same thing.  It looked like she had a very severe burn on her leg-it even pitted her skin.

    GET WELL SOON!

The blister is a GOOD THING we think.  This is the *poison* leaving my body (and frankly this is regular doctor folks saying this).  It is still oozing (8:10 p.m.) and now they're going to change the dressing every couple of hours and they have a special dressing on it to encourage it TO drain.

I'll be honest -- I don't care "pleasant" -- I just want to get BETTER - I want this frigging poison OUT of me.  I've been dealing with this for over a week now and it's gotta leave my body so I can get better.

I think it's really interesting -- my body had to open up a wound to get rid of this.  Probably safer than anything else and maybe if it came in the skin it has to leave that way?  i dunno -- I just am happy it's DOING something finally.  This is wearing.  I keep my sense of humor but that doesn't mean I don't get tired.  It's just gotta do what it's gotta do.  But I'm glad it's finally getting to the "DOING" part!!

Husband of the Year has gone down to get Greek food for us to bring back to the hospital and I am looking forward to it like you wouldn't believe!!
