Mom's in the hospital-Update pg 2

We had to take Mom to the hospital last night (before the storm started, thank goodness!). Seems she has a blood clot in her lungs. They've started her on two drugs to thin the blood; the doctors think she'll be there close to a week. She's not in any pain and they didn't find any more clots when they did a scan of her legs today. The diagnosis explains a lot of extra problems she's been having with her breathing/oxygen needs lately.

I'm glad they found it and are treating it. One of DH's coworkers was recently treated for the same and he's doing great. I'll keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers though and hope all goes well with the treatment.

Oh gosh, Kate -- how scarey. But thank Heavens they caught it while it was "findable" rather than sailing thru and causing a stroke!! Absolutely -- all my best good thots and prayers.

Since she's going to be there for several days, can you give me her address at the hospital so I can send her a card? Is she in ICU or a regular room?

Kate tell your mom she is getting some really strong get healthy vibes from Arkansas. My Mom was not feeling well, lack of energy, trouble running out of steam, and a strong pain in her back. She chalked it up to her MS or her Fibro. Dad made her go to the Dr last week and she had Pneumonia!!! I am so glad your Mom got in and they found the problem quickly. I think as we get older we tend to "blow off" aches and pains to thats just the way it is cause we are older.
