Good to hear they're seeking out an oncologist!!  Tessy's lumps were big and were starting to affect her breathing also!  Two days after her first chemo treatment they went right down to almost normal!!!

Good thoughts and vibes for Patrick!

    You can do it Patrick!

Thank you - that's really good to hear because that's all she's hoping for out of the chemo - that it relieves some pressure on his breathing so whatever days he has left are as comfortable as possible.  She's not expecting a cure or anything to stop this - just to make it easier for him to breathe.

Yeah, it really was amazing!  The docs couldn't believe it.  All dogs are different though and some take a bit longer BUT the general success rate is really good for treating lymphoma ...if that's what he has.  Tessy uses the Madison Wisconsin Protocol...likely the best chemo protocol for treating lymphosarcoma ...over 90% of the dogs on this achieve remission!

Still keeping your sis and Patrick in my prayers, best of vibes for tomorrow's appt.

I don't know details, but I got a text from her:  "No good news for the big guy.  Just going to make sure I do what I can to keep his tail wagging."

Edit - oncologist confirms hemangiosarcoma.  Nothing to be done except enjoy every day granted.

I'm hoping chemo is an option.  If we can shrink the nodules in his lungs and maybe relieve some pressure from the tumor on his throat, that would be wonderful.  Think good thoughts for him. :-) "

IF she decides to go that route, let me give your sister my number -- we did TCVM with Muffin when he had chemo and truly, it was almost a non-event.  He was NOT sick to his stomach, nor did he have raging diarrhea -- it REALLY made all the difference for him.

Have her get him on Co-Q-10 -- like 3 or 4 times his body weight in mg.  It helps get oxygen to the cells so when there is difficulty breathing it helps maximize the air they DO get.

I was hoping for a more positive update.  Will still keep them in my prayers.  Keep that tail wagging Patrick.

Our Pepper was diagnosed just after Thanksgiving with lung cancer.  We sent her off to the Bridge on December 31st. We did prednisone to help her breathe better as well as some herbs and other supporting items.

This is no easy thing and I will send all the "be strong" vibes for her and "breathe easy" vibes I can for him.

I'm so sorry for this news.

Oh crud!  Paige, I'm so sorry.  I wish your sister & Patrick wonderful days filled with love.  Hemangio is what got my Peanut.  I'm so, so, so sorry.  ((warm hugs to you, your sister & Patrick))

I will be thinking of both your sister and Patrick.  It's a very hard thing to say goodbye to a friend and companion.
