One of my bosses just called to say he's at the vet with his lab, Bella. She's having trouble breathing and so they've got her on oxygen and are trying to determine the cause. Bella is a 3 y.o. black lab mix and I've known her since she was a puppy. Her owner has gone thru a really rough marital time recently and I know that he's in no condition to deal with any more heartbreak. Please keep Bella in your thoughts and prayers that this isn't anything serious. She's the sweetest dog you could ever meet and means to the world to her human daddy.
He had to let her go to the bridge. Apparently she had some type of aggressive leukemia and the vet said treatment wouldn't buy her much time and not doing anything would give her a few miserable days. I was at a loss for what to even say other than I'm so sorry. This guy is my 2nd in command boss but he's more of a friend than anything else. He's just been thru such a difficult time the last 6 months both emotionally and financially that I'm worried about him. Any ideas on what I could do to help him?
