Prayers for Bella - Update :(

    • Gold Top Dog

Cathy, just let him know that you are there for him if he needs to talk, and that you "get it".  To so many, sweet Bella would be "just" a dog.  You know what she was to this man.

So sad. Run free, Bella :(

Thanks all. There's a great rescue group here that my friend and I always talk about, so I'm going to make a donation in honor of Bella to them. It's more for me than anything else. I don't do well with feeling helpless, so this will soothe my heart a little and go for a good cause.

Cathy, I'm so sorry to read about Bella.

Cathy, that is a wonderful idea!

He's just been thru such a difficult time the last 6 months both emotionally and financially that I'm worried about him. Any ideas on what I could do to help him?

Cathy, I'm so sorry.  I'd offer to let him talk if he wants.  I don't usually get people a sympathy card right away but it depends on the person.   It's always helped me to have someone to share memories of the dog.   Talking about their funny quirks and sweet ways can be very cathartic emotionally.

Run free sweet little Bella, no more pain!  Cathy tell you friend we are so sorry.

I'm just seeing this :( Run Free Bella!

I'm so sorry I missed this.  Run free, sweet Bella.  My heart aches for your friend/boss.  The only advice I have is the same as Jackie's.  Just be there.  Be an ear for him, a shoulder for him to lean on.  You ARE one of the few people who DO know what it's like to lose a friend & not 'just a dog'.  I'm so so so sorry for your friend.

Make sure he knows about Rainbow Bridge ... heck, give him the URL to this thread -- or simply encourage him to check out the Rainbow Bridge section of this forum ...

Just a note, Cathy -- nothing he has to deal with you "face to face" on ... particularly in a few days, tell him you've made a donation purely because you knew there really wasn't anything you could "do" otherwise.

Just saying you "understand" ... it's a big deal.

Aw no. :( I'm so sorry for his loss and donating some money seems like a very nice gesture!
