Susan, your son is in my prayers. He is where he needs to be for now. Time, intervention and love will help him heal. Take care and know you have everyone of us backing you with all our love & strength. ((((((((HUGS)))))))))

I also know someone who went thru a similar thing and everything is OK now.

Okay so my mom's not flying out until Tuesday morning. In the unlikely event Daniel gets released tonight, his friend is able to stay with him.

Daniel's still in denial. He contacted his ex and asked her to visit him cause he's lonely there. Anyone who calls him gets asked to call the ex and have her call him.  When I spoke to him, it was like talking to a 5 year old... He's trying to convince us that he should stay in LA once he's released. He now wants to stay living in the apartment since his rent is paid through the end of the month. It's heartbreaking to talk to him.

The "team" of doctors will be seeing him today to evaluate him. He's not eating. When I asked him why, he said he's protesting being in there.

I hope that you will know much more after the evaluation today. I can't imagine dealing with something like this from a distance but hopefully it won't be for much longer. (((HUGS)))

So I believe they're keeping him a few more days to see how he's handling the medicines they're putting him on. I don't know yet what medicines, for what or how long they're keeping him.

I do know he worked real hard today to try and convince everyone that he was fine and could be released.

I keep second-guessing whether this is the right thing for him or not. But I do know he needs help. I just wish we could bring him home and get him the help around here...

I know it must be so hard. Is there any way you can fly out here to see how he's doing?

My friend's son went thru something very similar and he was away from home. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the time. She was able to convince him to come back here and he went into treatment and with a lot of tweaking, they came up with the right meds for him to take.

So the doctor finally called me. They're keeping him another 14 days on some sort of 'hold' so he can't check out. He was showing symptoms of hypomania today.

He did overdose on Friday. The prescribed amount was 2 pills, he took 12.

He's not happy about having to stay. But he's still talking about working things out with the ex when he gets out. He kept repeating himself. I'm so glad my mom is going to be there tomorrow.

I want to go, but I don't think I could fly back home and just leave him there for the remainder of his time...

Dearheart you've been on my heart all day -- I'm glad they're keeping him.  And yes, I too am glad your Mom will be there.  But hopefully this will mean he may get some help that truly will *help* him.

I'm no stranger to this kind of stuff -- so I have a fair idea of the strain you've been under.  Keep taking one breath at a time.  We ARE thinking of you and lifting you up!!

And again I'm gonna post this -- but it just seems like a whole lot of our folks have NEEDED this sort of support lately -- whether you pray or just use it as a focal point to reflect -- good thots and prayers are never ever a waste and there is great power in that kind of hope and help.
