I'm so sorry to hear this, Glenda.  I'll keep all of you in my prayers and hope for a safe trip for your DH and DS.  Maybe just being together and knowing how near the end is will be enough to help rebuild some of those bridges.

Finally got the guys on the road, and then I called hospice to check on MIL.  She did fine during transport, but is tired and was napping when I called.  She's frightened of what's coming, and I don't think I will share that with Todd while he's on the road.  He doesn't need that eating at his gut for 30 hours.

I'll be a wreck until they arrive safely, but what else is new?

The prayers and good thots are greatly appreciated.

Still thinking of you and your family, Glenda.  I hope they have a safe trip.  You are all in my prayers.

A quick update.....the guys ETA is around 3:30 so that's a bit earlier than they expected.

When I spoke to hospice the nurse said that MIL was sitting in her chair eating pancakes.  I told her that the guys would be there late afternoon and she "thought" MIL would still be there.  That part I didn't share with Todd.

My prayers for you and your whole family. I imagine your DH's presence might have a huge healing effect for both of them. What a blessing that you were all able to make such quick travel arrangements so they could be with her while keeping everything going at home.

Because DS was down here trying to recover from the end of his marriage, and because they had planned to head to Maine next Thursday, speeding up the time table wasn't all that hard.  What IS hard for me, is having to stay here to keep the station going through next Wednesday.  Twelve hours on the air is a bit much, but, our other employee is doing the same thing, and we have a part timer who can pinch hit a bit this weekend.

Oh, Glenda, that does sound soooooo difficult! I can't imagine how hard it is to have to stay instead of going with your family to be right there for support. Sendings lots of love and prayers for everyone.
