Jackie's husband Charlie

I've been giggling at Deb's post and that feels so good. :)   I have a great update on Charles!  If he continues to improve he's going to REHAB on Monday!  That's the next step before he gets to come home.  I'm over the moon with happiness.  No one thinks he will need much time in rehab, maybe a week or two at the most.

It has been a long, somewhat stressful day but we got thru it.  we came home and made a few drinks and now I feel like a limp noodle.  Sorry if I'm overly emotional.

Charles is somewhat depressed but I would be too in his place. I remain so grateful to have him alive and on the road to a full recovery.

The cards continue to arrive and each and every one is so appreciated.  He gets comments from the nurses all the time about how many people must care about him.  It's touched me in ways I can never express.

Charles has a ways to go but I have no doubt that we are going to come out of this closer than ever and better than ever.   More than anything I see how people can touch each other's lives from miles and miles away with their prayers and good thoughts and their love.  Love is a word people are often reluctant to use but it's the right word for what I have felt from all of the people on this forum.   It's been the strongest lesson I have ever learned.

Jackie!  You sound great!  And, I agree....when Charlie is able to move around more, get out of the hospital and get home...I'm sure his depression will subside.  Shoot, perhaps even starting the rehab should help.   Its been quite a whirlwind for you guys.

Continued healing vibes, positive thoughts and virtual hugs from me to you!

    Love,

    Barbara

I was hoping to hear some good news thismorning!!!  So happy to hear things are getting better so quickly.  I have no coubt Charles will start to get better emotionally with time.  He's got you there with him so that's all that matters.

Jackie - that is amazing news about the possibility of Charles being released to rehab on Monday. For a guy who's had some many hurdles to jump, he's really done fantastic. I was only in the hospital a few days for my surgery, but even then I was chomping at the bit to get out of there. I'm sure Charles feels that in a big way. No doubt that when he starts to see the light at the end of the tunnel, his mood will lift. I know you must be living for the day when he's back home too. I hope the weekend brings even more good news.

It IS so awesome the friendships that can be forged ... and just the fact that it widens our pool of friends in such a way that folks just jump in when they feel a pull to do so.

Rehab sounds awesome -- Tell Charles not to get too down in the dumps or I'll have to send in the pug to lick him into oblivion!!  Trust me -- she can do it!!! *smile*

Wow, being very busy lately, I hadn't been on the forum for a while. I had no idea!

Jackie, it seems you and Charles have already come a long way with his recovery! I am sending you guys good thoughts! Please take care of yourself!

Hey Jackie - just checking in to see how Charles is doing today. I hope he's continued to make progress and can transfer to rehab tomorrow. If he does, what will the rehab entail?

If I remember right, your sister leaves tomorrow, right? I'm sure you've loved having her there and will be sad to see her go.

I hope you're all having a nice Sunday and things are going well in all regards. I continue to think about you guys and say prayers that Charles gets better with each passing day.

Blessings on you Jackie and your family. I've been out of pocket, recently and had called Callie about another issue when she told me of yours.

So, another round of blessings for Callie, the sweetest person in dogdom, and that's not an exaggeration or superlative.

As well as blessings on the rest of you fine people here, and it is my pleasure and honor to be associated with.

Jackie, that is just amazing. 2 weeks in rehab after all that he has gone through! That says a lot for his health prior to all of this.

I'm thinking of you all every day! The 2x4 (or was it 3x6) made me lol!

    Talk to you soon!
