I was just checking in. I work in MRI and we do see many people with aneurysms. It all depends on where they are and how big, the general condition of the person what they do to treat them. They sometimes just watch them and we have several patients that come in a few times a year to make sure everything is still OK. Then some people have to go to the hospital right away when we find them. The coil is one way they fix them. Then some use clips. I think I've even talked to a few people who said they couldn't have surgery. So, it all depends on what exactly it is.
When a regular Dr finds them they usually refer right away because it can be something that needs immediate attention. But, then once the specialist reviews the info they can decide if it can wait. That's why the totally different sense of urgency between the two.
Anyway, I'm not a Dr but I thought I'd share that info. I get a lot of exposure to different things at work. I actually think she got "good" news considering what she originally thought.
We are still thinking about her. It's wonderful that her friend is taking such good care of her. What a relief that must be for you.
