Prayers for my step daughter *Updated 04/05/10

Hi all, I know the power of prayer and I have seen it work many times.  I am asking for your prayers and healing vibes for my Step-daughter, Veronica.  She is 35 and has been having seizures for a few months.  She is not physically healthy anyway.  They have not been able to find the problem until now.   Test results came back today, she has an "Aneurysm".  The procedure her Doctor is recommending is a "Coil embolization" which I have just read up on.  There is not a specialist in N.W. Arkansas equiped to do this so we will take her to Springfield MO on Monday the 28th to see the recommended specialist.  I dont know if they will keep her then for the procedure or if they will send us back home for another day.

Veronica has one daughter that is in her terrible teens and is pushing her Mom to the limit....since this is serious and Veronica needs to stay calm especially now I will also ask you to send calming vibes for her and "straighten your attitude" vibes for my granddaughter.  Our other granddaughter was just home on leave from the Army and has already gone back.

Thanks guys, dont know when I will get back to update....

I'm sorry that your stepdaughter is going thru this but I hope that knowing what the problem is and having a way to treat it will mean she's feeling better soon. I'll keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Ginger, our best calm gentle vibes of health and good will for your step-daughter, and some extra strength "gain some perspective" vibes for your granddaughter.  I understand when a parent is sick that the worry and stress can manifest in sometimes "unproductive" ways, so I hope she gets some support to voice the fears/worries that may not seem obvious under the current cloak of attitude or behavior.

    Big hugs to you.

So many good vibes for your Stepdaughter coming from me & my pack.  Ditto to what Paige said.  Please let your SD know that we're all thinking/praying/sending out good vibes for her & her daughter.

This all gets so difficult on so many levels -- particularly when you're 'grandma' and get all the responsibility and worry.  She'll be on my prayer list for sure -- and let me know if there is some other way I can help.

Thanks everyone for the support and prayers.  "Grandpa"  had to have a serious talk with the teen granddaughter last night.  Dont know how long it will last, you know how kids are.  I will keep you all updated.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support.   We are back home in Arkansas.  I wont say it was a wasted trip because we did learn alot more about the aneurysm and the procedure.  The Neuro Surgeon we spoke with did indicate that she could possibly live with the aneurysm for the rest of her life without any major issues???  This was a bit confussing since her GP seemed to think it was more urgent.  This Doctor also said the the aneurysm was not causing the seizures that they were 2 different issues.  So that really was dissappointing on the level that we thought there was finally an answer to the seizures.  Now they are wanting to do some more diagnostic tests before deciding which procedure to do.   The surgeon also indicated that if we prefered he could recommend a fine surgeon in NW Arkansas so we would not have to travel 3 hours to and from everytime she needed to.   If he performs the "coil" there would be 2 more trips prior to the procedure and several after.   Veronica has some thinking to do since she was so certain that he could schedule the "coil" and get it done while we were there this week.  Not going to happen that way, in fact unless she has any problems it may be 6-8 weeks before he can schedule her back in for the tests.   Biggest problem is now who to see and what to do about these seizures.

For now we will play the wait and see game.   Callie thanks for your tips and advise, I hope to convince her to start paying closer attention to what is happening when these seizures come on.   I am hoping we can look at the possibility of using some of your suggestions rather than the drugs.  This will be a work in progress :)

She fortunately has a male friend staying at the house and he is a CNA?...anyway he is staying on top of everything and is getting her through the seizures.  He is monitoring her meds and her diet and encouraging excersise (stretches and walking) she has lost some weight and this has helped her BP and sugar levels tremendously.   I was very impressed by his concern and knowledge so at least we know he is there if an emergency arises.

Thanks again friends, if you could keep us on your prayer list I would appreciate it.
