Prayers needed

Wow, Trish, that's intense!  That picture of your eye is amazing.  Is that from a CATscan or something?

I'm so sorry to hear this and it must be very frightening.  My father had macular degeneration and they were able to do laser surgery and stop the progress of the disease, so he never lost vision in that eye.  Good luck to you and I'm saying prayers that the prednisone will help and the side effects will taper off

Jean, I'm such a dunce!! I think I have the dizziness and ears ringing figured out. I have a coworker who has to use Prednisone when his Crohn's acts up and when I was complaining about the ringing in my ears and feeling shaky.. he asked me if I ate. The response was no! I hate to eat until late afternoon usually, even if I know a pill may upset my stomach I'm so stubborn I take it on an empty stomach anyway.

Well, after I ate I felt a lot better. same thing today. So, I think I have found a compromise. Since I don't like to eat, but I should have something in my system I have a can of Slim Well diet shake mix from Avon, that should give me the nutrition I need to keep my blood sugar from acting stupid and I still don't have to 'eat'.

When I go back on the 28th to see if it's helping the leaks he will make the decision about when to start tapering then. If it's not working we will start tapering right then, but if it seems to be working I will take the high dose for 2 more weeks, then taper. His goal is to have me off of it completely in 3 months, if not sooner.

Wishing you well that the prednisone works for you. Glad to hear also that you have it figured out, so that it doesn't seem to bother you when you take it.

OMG, Trish.  I'm so sorry, I didn't see this before now.  You must think I'm such a jerk for not saying something sooner.  Hope the medication works and we will be praying and thinking of you.  Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out.  Lori

I'm doing okay. The side affects are getting a little easier to handle, but I'm not seeing any improvement in my vision... not sure how long it's suppose to take if it's going to work. I go back on the 28th to check and it will be decided then what step to take next. Because I'll have to probably go through courses of steroid treatment for the rest of my life, and eventually will have to add immunosuppressive therapy, the goal is to get me off the steroids as soon as possible. If they aren't working when I go back for a check up, then they will start tapering then and most likely it's time for the laser at that point. If they seem to be slowing the  down, then I will stay on them and hope they work.

Let's just hope Boss keeps his sympathy to himself this time. Last time I had to have laser surgery, he got that puncture hole in the same eye about a week later![;)]
