I'm very late with my post, but sending best wishes for your uncle now that he's post-op.  I've known quite a few people who've had similar surgeries, including my MIL and a dear friend of ours.  Those first few days in ICU are scary, and they look awful all hooked up to things, etc.  But the amazing turn-around after they've recovered a bit more is really something.  Here's hoping your uncle feels great soon - like a new person, in really strong health!

Tracy, yes, my cousin said he looked pretty scary with all his tubes & monitors hooked up to him.  I talked to her today & Charlie is off the ventilator & a few other tubes were removed.  She seems to think that he'll be moved out of CICU tomorrow.  I've been holding my breath since Tuesday & when she called today I let out a huge breath.  He's still not out of the woods but the really scary part is past.  He's still pretty dopey which is funny & scary @ the same time.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts & prayers.  I'm positive they helped.
