    Heart Surgery - UPDATE 1/17

My Uncle is in surgery right now.  He's having a heart valve replaced.  Please keep him & his surgeons in your thoughts & prayers.  This is the man who was my rock when things got really dicey with Dad.  He's a very giving man, in his own way.  He is also the last (reasonable) family member of my mom's generation.

You've got it.  Prayers and good thots coming your way and I'll get the candle lit when I get home.

Thanks Glenda. This came up kind of suddenly for me. As is usual in my family, we don't talk about important things like this. Uncle Charlie didn't want anyone to know about it. Stiff upper lip & all that garbage. Needless to say, I'm in a tizzy about this. Anyway, I figure that we have some powerful juju here @ i-dog & what he doesn't know won't hurt him. Any positive thoughts, good vibes, prayers that people can spare for Uncle Charlie would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, sending good thoughts and prayers that Uncle Charlie is out of surgery by now and resting comfortably.  I've had my share of relatives with the "stiff upper lip" mentality too, and I know how frustrating it is [:)].

Charlie is out of surgery now.  He was in for eight & a half hours!  Right now he's in CICU.  It's so hard to think of him being vunerable & having tubes, IV's & monitors attached all over him.

Glad to see that your uncle Charlie is out of surgery... still saying prayers for him as he is recovering.

Prayers for a speedy recovery for your uncle and warm snuggles from the MinPins being sent to you.[sm=angel.gif]

Uncle Charlie is still in CICU & probably will be for a few more days.  The problem now is that his current wife, not my aunt, is being a horrid control freak & watchdog.  She is even having problems letting my cousin come see her father.  Who knows if Charlie is even going to make it through this.  How can she be so callous as to not let his own children in to see him?

Well I'm glad he made it thru surgery and they'll keep a close eye on him in CICU.  As for the new wife controlling who visits him, well that just stinks!  I cannot even imagine if someone tried to keep me from seeing my dad or other family member, but it wouldn't be pretty - especially if the person wasn't even a blood relative.  It's sad that this can bring out the worst in some people and I hope someone can get thru to her that this time is important for his children to be close to him.  Grrrrr...makes me mad to even think about something like this [:@].  Sorry for the rant, and I hope he continues to improve.

Cathy, I can't even imagine what is going through wifeypoo's head by not wanting HIS kids to come see him.  Fortunately my cousin has had enough of her garbage & went to see her father anyway.  I think that MAYBE she's hinking that she's doing what's best for him in keeping things calm for him but I'm pretty positive that even though he's pretty heavily medicated he's aware of what's going on.  Yet another reason why I prefer animals to most people.

"Tough-guy" good healing vibes on the way...

oh, and some "Soften-up lady" vibes headed for his DW. [;)]

Good vibes coming from us, too.

I don't know her and shouldn't make judgements but even if he doesn't realize the kids are there, they need to be able to see him and spend time with him.  Gosh, when my dad was sick it would've taken more than any human has in them to keep me away.  I can see limiting the visits to 5-10 min's at a time, but no way I'd be kept away completely.  I hope he starts doing better soon and they can all crowd around and cheer him up soon [:)].

Thanks ladies.  Just knowing you all are praying for the tough guy.  I'm sure his time is not up yet but it's still very worrisome. Hehehe, do you think it would be evil if I called his church & asked that he'd be added to their prayers?  Ah, let him be mad at me.  I can't lose another important person in my life so soon.

We (my cuz & I) want to do a stick-up-her-buttectomy on the new wifeypoo.  She's really a winner.
