Keela (and I) need some prayers (UPDATED 3/23)

I'm glad she's doing better and hope she gets well without the surgery.

Well today is Wednesday, and she kept everything down that she ate yesterday and this morning. She also pooped a normal amount this morning, but this evening she looks to be having a little difficulty. Maybe the blanket? Anyway, she is feeling better and eating well. She's still getting slippery elm with each meal and the food is being soaked in water to help her tummy. She is one of those dogs that eats in 10 seconds flat - always has, probably always will.

Not sure how long I'll keep soaking her food, probably the rest of the week. I want to see several days of normal poop before she gets her normal food and supplements.

I think we are on the road to wellness without surgery though! :)

That's great news.  I hope she keeps pooping.  :)  Poop is good despite it's bad reputation. lol

LOL Seems like I talk more poop with my dogs than friends with kids! :)

Thursday found her with a small piece of blanket in her morning poop. Nothing near the size I've seen her pass before, and definitely small to have caused all the problems. Nothing in the pm poop though. She is feeling better, but is still quiet for her. She's not arguing with me when I shoo her inside so she won't play her normal cow routine. I swear that dog eats more grass for the fun of it than a cow does to stay alive!

I'm still puzzled as to what was really going on with her Sunday. She had all the signs of obstruction vs just a tummy bug. I don't think a tummy upset would have had her so tender around her sides and tense when palpated. Either way, I just wish if there is more blanket in there, that it would come on out. We will be a week from the blanket fest on Friday, so.....

Sage's foot is doing great though. Swelling is way down, almost normal. She's walking on it without favoring it, and even being a little spazz runner despite restrictions. Their personalities are growing and it is so awesome watching them grow each day and reach out to me instead of me smothering them with affection. I just hope I do right by them!

Come on Keela, you're still worrying your mom a little.  She's ready to have her little hell raiser back!

Amy, I'm so glad that Sage is doing so well.

Willow had a LOT of pain when she had inflammed intestinal loops. She couldn't lay down at all.   And, she was also vomiting a lot.  I really thought she had pancreatitis.

Thanks Amanda! Not being able to train them like I know they need to be is bothering me. They'll be 11 weeks old this Sunday and they haven't had anything like what I want. My back has been a real train wreck to their needs and my desires.

Keela had a nasty reaction to her rabies vaccine in February. I always dose with benadryl before shots. I'm glad I did, cause I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn't. Her feet got really raw and painful and she was walking hunched up and stiff legged. She didn't want me to even get near her feet they hurt so bad. She got soooo much benadryl that night to keep her from chewing her feet into oblivion. I've kept an eagle eye on her ever since because I'm leery of her crashing from something like IMHA. Her gums and capillary action stayed fine, and she never ran a temperature on Sunday. When she ate dinner and got worse afterward, I really thought we were going to end up at the vet, but she eased and we decided to wait till morning.

I wish now that I had them run blood work on Monday. If we weren't dealing with an obstruction, but something like pancreatitis or inflamed bowel it would be nice to know.

I'm sorry Willow had so much pain. It is so hard to see them hurt like that. I hope Willow is doing better with her health issues! I know I have new grey hair due to Sunday. I sat with Keela and just bawled my eyes out.
