They said the 3rd season premiere was Oct. 23rd, but there was only this one show.  The rest are still re-runs.  Maybe you are missing it as it is getting lost in other episodes and not standing out as a "premiere" episode.  I think it's probably easy to miss.  Keep checking your listing or go on the NGC website to find a date of showing.

I agree that CM's dealing of Banjo was good.  I'm sure other dog professionals would also use this technique and it's not magic, but it is very effective for this type of fearful dog.  No force or compulsion used at all, just getting in synch with the dog's state of mind.  It clearly outlines how just "love" alone won't cure behaviors in dogs.  Many dog owners thing that love and attention will be all they need.  Myself included in this way of thinking before I knew any better.

Sorry to go off topic, but I don't know how to PM Mastiff. Just wanted to say that this dog reminded me of yours.

Awwww.  Amazing how a dog like this could be a stray.  That makes it a bit harder to place since they know nothing about him or his temperament.  Usually, a Mastiff rescue will pull them out of shelters if they see them.  Thanks for the post turtle2898!

I'm like an hour out of philly, so any mastiff rescue would be around both of us. Do you know any. I'll look for some, to see if they want to pull him, he might be fine though.

That dog will be claimed or adopted in a blink of an eye.  I had one foster in my house and usually one of the first things I do if the dog is purebred is contact a rescue for information on the breed.  To my surprise there were rescue groups but no dogs in the rescue.  This was a pup so they applied so much pressure on me to give her up the rescue organization.  These dogs sell in the thousands of dollars.

If you guys think my crap gets tiresome for you, how do you think I feel.  Not only do I have to explain why this guy isn't the male Madonna (I mean Mary, not the other one) every day of my life that I teach classes, but I have to undo the damage that people do to their dogs from watching him, or they assume that, because Cesar's way didn't work the dog is unsalvageable.

So let me try and understand this. Because people watch a show (one that clearly states...don't try these techniques with the help of a professional) and then try do what Cesar does...it's his fault if they do it wrong. And as far as dogs being..."unsalvageable" goes, the funny thing here is...Cesar works with dogs MANY trainers won't touch. I infact work with a lot of dogs that trainers who use *positive reinforce only* can't and don't help and then tell the owners the dog should be put down, and yet I successfully turn them around.

Most of the time they are talking to me about a six month old puppy, for crying out loud.  You guys are dealing with your own dogs - I'm hearing about puppies getting cuffed and ssshhhttt'd at, and pinned to the floor before they even know what "sit" means.

Again...how would that be Cesar's fault? And...if your did a 30 minute demo tape and it was edited to 5 minutes, would people use your techniques correctly.

So, I really think I've earned the privilege of rolling my eyes, because what I see him do is not all that impressive.

And does every trainer or person who sees your work..."impressive? I'm guessing not. And the fact that he's saves a lot of dogs lives...is impressive in itself. It sad that that some how bothers you.

And, to keep coming on these threads so that you can bash me for telling you what he does that is not ok, well should I simply be a masochist forever?

What gives you the right to state that his methods are not..."ok". What makes his wrong and yours...right. I'll tell you. your...opinion...that's it. If you don't like what he does...don't watch. If you don't like Cesar threads...don't read them. Simple...yes?

Please, I get paid for my opinion, I offer it here free.  I don't, however, think I should be operating at a deficit by taking the kind of crap many of you have dished me.  Like "treat dispenser", "bribes the dog", "jealous" "passive-aggressive" (I'm jealous, all right, but not of CM - I would, however, like to be a size 6 and  have Oprah's money in my next life.)

And I get paided for mine. And my "opinion" is...while I make not like someones methods...it doesn't make them wrong. I'm only against hurting dogs. No trainer i have ever met, has been able to prove to me that using mother natures way to teach dogs is...wrong. But I've seen lots of proof that going against it...simply doesn't work.

Actually, I think I will just bail out of this thread, since it seems all the same people are here touting CM, as always.  Anyone who would like to see the same results using dog-friendly techniques can PM me for resources.  That way, we don't go down the same primrose path of the endless arguments.  This is a great place for all you CM groupies to hang out so others of us can get on with some positive training advice for the people who would like it.

It's not that I want to pick on you, it just seams from this post...you and a bit of an anger issue.I find it somewhat...interesting. You say people call you names, but then you turn around and say..."This is a great place for all you CM groupies to hang" Are you not doing some form of name calling there?

I don't recall having made an appointment to be analyzed.  This is a dog forum, on which we sometimes have debate, even heated debate.  It is not a place for amateur mental health counseling.  You should be careful of such remarks lest you hurt someone who takes these things more seriously than I do.

anyway....  The new episode comes on tonight, so check it out!

You made comments on the internet...on a forum. I simply commented on your comments and made an observation. What I didn't do...unlike you...is make any snide remarks. Which I'm sure could have hurt some feelings. And did you not say "you were done with this thread"? Perhaps if you weren't so busy bashing Cesar, you wouldn't feel the need to defend yourself so much.

Getting a little personal here folks.......

    Okaaaaaay...

So, I just saw tonights episode.  His first case was a Blue Healer that aggressively chased and sometimes bit people walking up to the house.  It appeared to be an outdoor dog that was allowed free range of the yard.  Cesar's solution was using a tennis racket to block the dog from attack.  He didn't hit or even touch the dog with the racket.  The idea of the whole exercise was to challenge the dog.  This seemed to work out alright, but I wondered now if every person approaching the house needed a tennis racket to fend off this dog.  He made a joke later on about buying a racket for every person that comes to the house but in the end it seemed like it was no longer needed.

The next dog was a pitbull that had an injured leg after being hit by a bus.  The owner had problems with the dog pulling hard on its harness during walks.  Much to my surprise, Cesar didn't use a different collar or make a slip out of the leash and use it high on the neck.  He bascally just talked to the owners, explaining his philosophy about being relaxed, living in the moment and taking baby steps towards a sucessfull walk.

The last case was about an actress (forgot her name) and her son who had just put down one of their two dogs.  After the grieving process, they decided to get a new dog for their French Bulldog.  They had a lady come over with rescued dogs from Mexico.  Cesar gave good advice on choosing the right companion for their dog.  They had it down to two dogs. Very interesting to watch the dogs interact with each other and understand why one was not the right choice.  The son got on my nerves a little and almost came off as a spoiled brat, but in the end he sided with Cesar and his mom.

    Virginia Madsen and her son.

Her brother, Michael Madsen, is an actor (Kill Bill, Vengeance, whole bunch of other stuff) does the narration for "Animal Precinct".

I thought he did a great job of helping them decide which dog was best.

Was anyone else particularly impressed with how mature and what a good kid her son was?
