What about non-emergency, off leash situations where she's just wandered a bit far and you want to bring her in? Anybody teach two recalls?

wow, I have whole bunch of recall signals. A whistle. A formal Front position obedience recall. A formal come to heel position recall. An emergency recall. An informal come close to me. A hand touch-- dog has to come to you to touch your hand!

As to flexis, they apparently are now selling ones with a real web leash, not the "cut your hands and legs to the bone" thin line. I can see using one of those with the web line. The big problem with the origninal thin line flexi is you truly have no control over your dog-- if he pulls the line out and refuses to come to you, you can't force the dog to come to you, and if you try to grasp and pull on the line you'll cut your hands up.

Yes, I've had the wider nylon leash type Flexi since I got Bubblegum.  It works just fine. I have to say, if you try to stop them before they run to the end...a big dog can pull it right thru where you are trying to stop it,,,and dash until the end of the leash..so you need to have a little control of your dog when using it.  That is the only leash I use except if I were taking Bubby to the vet when I put on a leash that also has the shorter handle to hold her close.
